Liberals just don't love this country enough, don't you know that? Being critical of the US of A is just not right. LouieB

It's all pretty amazing. Actually Ben Carson is polling really shitty despite being African American. When is Rick Santorum going to jump back in? LouieB

I have the feeling that the Ork box set is not exclusive to RSD. Generally Numero makes many of these and sell them until they are gone. At over $100 it is unlikely to go very fast. Yea, there are 2000 of them and they are being sold on their website for $125. LouieB

There are a few trees and I have attended both as a spectator and selling records (mostly the latter at this point.) It's a good fest and it does attract a variety of ages, but mostly younger people. There is plenty of food and drink, although at times the lines are long and if you get sick of the crowds you can shop for posters and records. They also have a very good first aid crew if you fall out from dehydration. There is no moshing, but maybe the occasional crowd surf. The areas around the stage are extremely crowded during the main acts, but if you slide up the sides you can see pr

Horrible. At this point the Sox are headed nowhere. LouieB

I sang Autumn Leaves for a choir audition in high school. I was terrible. Maybe this whole thing will spark a new interest in vocalists (and real songs). I guess there isn't much else to go back to that hasn't already been re-examined. LouieB

I'm there selling LPs. If you like thousands of people in a smallish park with bands at three stages you will have a good time. There are not many places to actually chill under a tree because there aren't that many trees. But it's fun. LouieB

That's sort of what I figured, but I plan to get home and see the end of this one if possible. LouieB

Hawk Harrelson is a horrible announcer. Time for him to retire. I saw that the game is at one, but the TV listing also indicated it was in the evening as well. Not sure what the real time is. It could be a double header? LouieB

The Sox game is going to be on TV today. That should be something to see. LouieB

It's hard to make everyone happy. I was shut out the first go around and was trying to find a ticket. After seeing them at Riot Fest (a huge festival in the mud), I am happy to see them in a club with real floors. After awhile the Replacements may become like the Pixies I suppose. a tired old act that reunited and has worn out its welcome. But for now they are the hottest ticket in the country. LouieB

Go see her. Just on filming. LouieB

I need a few replacements after this birthday. LouieB

Let's go. LouieB

More tickets went on sale for the April 30 show in Chicago so I will be spending my birthday with the Replacements. Yea!!!! LouieB

I'm pretty sure there will be people there. LouieB

I would go with the first two Bloodshot records first. Country Hard is also very good. (Maybe the best single album.) Two second tier albums that are very good are Couples in Trouble and 13 Hillbilly Greats. The album Paul is referring to is Gone Away Backwards and is also good, but would not be my first choice. His major label album Let's Kill Saturday night is also good. While he makes good records, Robbie is an excellent performer. LouieB

Vintage Vinyl is kind of a dump, but fun enough. Was just there a few weeks ago. They do sell LPs pretty cheaply though. Record Exchange is also a dump, but an awesome record packed dump which is worth a trip. Euclid is still the standard for St. Louis stores, but no longer in the city so hard to get to and expensive in general. The price on singles is ridiculous. I got a Robyn Hitchcock thing for 9 bucks and thought I was getting a bargain. (Local artists Twin Peaks sold their single for 7, but of course they are just up and coming, not a classic or alternative/indie band that no longer

Or better yet to stop flipping, produce a whole bunch and sell them for a year. LouieB

Jumping the shark is a relative issue I suppose. I talked to a friend who really wanted (and got) some of the releases this year, so to him it was an essential year. And while I got a few interesting things, I could have lived without all of it. Setting up the record buying public with fake shortages or perceived shortages is just plain wrong in my opinion. Most egregious this year were the Springsteen reissues, which will be fully available after RSD, but then again Uncle Tupelo did the same thing a few years back. And if a short supply release is important and interesting to a large numb

Well yea, I was slightly exaggerating but not much. Most LPs were in the low 20s for individual, but there were plenty of single LPs that went over into the $30 range. Singles where I was were going in the $10 range. All this is still a lot of money if you buy a handful. LouieB

It's very easy when an LP is 25-35 bucks or doubles are more than that. And the box sets?? Yikes. LouieB

Had fun working at Laurie's but I have to say, this is the year RSD jumped the shark. The record companies used to give out free shit, but no longer and prices are ridiculous. Got a couple cool things, but plugging the Springsteen reissues seems besides the point. LouieB

I finally broke down and bought the new LP. It's coming in the mail. I was hoping Bob would just send me one for being in AARP, but no such luck. LouieB

Yea, Okay. That's as good a pick as anyone. LouieB
