If you are just now getting into Liz, you are at least a decade too late. You had to be there so don't bother. Her first couple albums are pretty good, but that's about it. LouieB

Uh oh..now THAT will be stuck in my head.... Actually it is both Either Way and Impossible Germany that are stuck in my head.... edit- I threw SBS on while doing paperwork this morning and I really enjoy it now that I have heard it several times. Not sure how anyone couldn't warm up to it with a bit of time. LouieB

I don't know about the rest of you, but a few of the songs on this album run through my head all the time.....I just can't get them out. I would say that's a good sign. LouieB

Hang out in Harvard Square, hang out in the Common, do the Freedom Trail, check out the North end, ride the T. Boston is a fun town and not large. LouieB

Agreed. His career has suddenly caught fire too. LouieB

Be glad they aren't playing the United Center or whatever that thing is called in Rosemont, or the new Center out in the NW burbs. There are many worse places. LouieB

EVen if you get off at 10, you should talk someone into bringing you down afterwards, since things don't get going full tilt until about 10:30, the first hour or so is just a chance to drink and hold down a seat. LouieB

I would guess some nights at the Auditorium. No inside info though, just a guess. LouieB

Very sad. What I had not remembered until I read the article in the paper today is that he graduated from the same school in Chicago that my kids (have gone) go to - Northside College Prep. In fact he may have graduated with Rosie since they are the same age...not sure. LouieB

Virgiinia apparenly has some of the laxest gun laws in the country, not that that would have stopped this guy either... LouieB

I didn't look at Metacritic. I checked out blurbs about the show in various Chicago publications and that was my own biased metacritical conclusion.... LouieB

Take the Eisenhower, turn south on the Ryan, go east on 75th street, park, walk in, buy a bunch of drinks, dig Von....its easy. LouieB

She had better not get too tired of it, because she is going to be expected to sing it for the rest of her life..... I am with you on this, I don't think she was perpared for the sudden fame. Many musicians travel and perform for years trying to get where she is now at a very young age. As we know from following some of our favorite groups, travel and nearly identical performances day in and day out is what is required. Hell after 35 years of working I sure would like to take a bunch of time off because I am sick of working too. LouieB

I think her single is good too, but she just canceled her tour saying she is tired and not giving her best performances.... What does that tell you?? LouieB

Trust me..it will be better than school (and work for that matter...) no wait seeing Von is like going to school. LouieB

Night two of the Being there tour at Lounge Ax. I have no idea anymore what the date was, but sometime in the mid-90s. LouieB

We are screwed....and will have to buy it again. Such a bargain. LouieB

Please do. It would be good to see him. Anyone else?? LouieB

Generally I have stopped posting shows I go to, but I have a free Tuesday night in a couple weeks and I thought I would invite VCers to go with me to see Von Freeman once again. Von is now 84 and was recently written up in the Trib. Sadly he won't be around forever, so every opportunity to see him could be the last. If anyone is interested let me know. LouieB

There are billions of dollars spent on homeland security every year. Don't radios work anymore? We all knew about this story yesterday morning when it finally broke. Had the news broken sooner everyone in the local community would have known earlier too. LouieB

The first shooting occured fairly early in the morning. Once students have already arrived on campus it is difficult to get them to leave, but again, if people start showing up, you send them home, close the parking lots, whatever. There is no perfect answer to this, but not attempting to keep the campus clear didn't make sense (treating this as a domestic disturbance). I have a child on a college campus and to think they wouldn't inform her that someone was murdered on campus and then try and figure out a way to increase security and awareness would not be acceptable. When the basements o
