Stardom?? Only if you consider Waylon Jennings covering a bunch of your songs on an album as stardom. His solo albums hardly sold I would guess. Admittedly others covered his songs as well, which should have kept him going through old age. This is a sad story. LouieB

Or you can buy the vinyl version of Low's Things we lost in the fire, which is exactly like that. LouieB

Hubert Sumlin was supposed to play at my wedding, but he bowed out at the last minute due to health issues....the bandleader found a replacement but that would have been pretty cool. LouieB -
In that case let's make it 78 RPM and get even better sound..... LouieB

I think it should be a whole pile of 12 inch 45 RPM singles for optimal sound..... Louieb

I did listen to alot of CKLW both in Cleveland (though KYW and WKYC were my mainstays among some AM stations) and also when i went to school in NW Ohio. They played so much Motown I got tired of it though. It was a 50,000 watt station and blasted most of the midwest as I recall. Played way too many ads.....Elias Brothers Big Boy and such. LouieB

Most of the extra cuts are worth it but not all.....either way it is worth it. There are occasionally original versions of this floating around. LouieB

There is also a technique the Surrealists used called "exquisite corpse" where all collaborators add a line to a poem. (Also they used it for drawings as well...) Collective poems can be an interesting way to teach poetry...see Kenneth Koch... LouieB

Lots of Califone fans here, but if you have never seen them, what they do is pretty incredible. The two Hideout shows were some of the best things I have seen ever. LouieB

I would imagine it will be released some how, someway officially. There are plenty of labels who would like to put something like this out. Hey remember Liverpool Oratorio by Paul McCartney or the Juliette Letters by Elvis Costello... LouieB

I hear he is opening for Sonic Youth at Pitchfork doing the entire Aeroplane over the Sea from start to finish, since SY is doing Daydream Nation. LouieB

Yea, I guess I should get my copy out....Ray Bradbury, right...another famous Illinoisan... LouieB

I have not read Dandelion Wine in decades... Good show, packed enthusiastic audience. It was nice that Nora showed up to help on harmonies. The band was a stitch as always. I had the unfortunate experience of standing next to a a couple who seemed more interested in taking pictures than listening to the music. (They weren't assholes, just a bit over the top on their picture taking...) and at one point Neko started waving at me (I thought) but actually she was waving at these guys asking them not to film her. They claimed they weren't but it put a damper on things for a few songs in my pa

After several listens I am giving this a rest until it comes out officially. Impossible Germany is the centerpiece of the album, and while Nel's solos are as exciting as the live ones, it is still damn good. LouieB
