14 Garth and Maud Hudson - "No Depression in Heaven" is from the Revenant Volume 4 that Harry Smith never got around to putting out. LouieB

Me too....the vinyl is just fine....LouieB -
It doesn't hold together as well as an entire album, but some of the individual songs are certainly better than many of the individual songs on Sgt. Pepper, I am with you on that. LouieB

I have a Buddy Spicher/Buddy Emmons LP that is pretty mediocre as well as another album by one of these guys which is slightly better. I also have a "Pig" Hargus LP that is also fairly mediocre. Alot of these guys really needed to stick to being session players unfortunately. That is where their real talent lay. LouieB

Some great individual songs packaged up pretty good. I liked the movie (TV show really) as well, although it got kinda goofy at the end. LouieB

Someday soon we will need passports from what I hear. It may be a dump to you, but it seems to have some appeal to those of us from dumps like Chicago and Boston.... LouieB

I donno....somehow I can't imagine these albums were worth reissuing at any time. There is tons of stuff from that period that is far superior to them. Both the Baez and Woody/Country Joe albums have great songs and great arrangements (at least I think so) to hang all the playing on. I just never thought these Area Code 615 sounded that good even when they first came out. I don't even know if the Thinking of Woody was reissued on CD at all, I have never bother to check it out. Checking on Amazon, apparently the Japanese think this stuff is good enough to keep in print as a compilation. (

Their ads more more than a bit suggestive....and more than a bit pretentious as well. LouieB hey Kalle I plan to visit Sault St. marie next week. What should I do? Do you need a passport to cross the border? By the way, great song by Joe Henry about your town. LouieB

I think I have Trip In the Country and I never sell anything. I think I got it for a buck at a used record/book sale and it is the LP version. My main problem with it is it isn't much country really not that the musicianship is bad. I just always thought that these guys could cook up something better considering how good they are/were on sessions. I just think they aren't that great as writers arrangers. Back in college I had a friend who had both of them. No idea if he still has them. LouieB

And I am sure you will be good at it too.... LouieB

Frankly this was one of the funnier bits in a totally cringe inducing movie... LouieB -

I have one of the Area Code 615 albums and have heard both and find them both kinda bland. LouieB

Before I get busy today.....Greg Kots take on the event.... Now mine. Day two was less humid and hot than day one, but far more crowded. Rather than go early (and sadly missing Nels and Jeff Parker) we went later so we could make it to the end, which was NOT bitter at all. We plunked down in about the same spot as the day before. Just in time to hear Mr. Lif and Aesop Rock. These guys were good for the first 20 minutes afterwards I lost interest. After chillling through the rest of their set I headed over to see Mission of Burma at the other stage and got relatively close for an ear s
