  1. We are planning our next show this Thursday. Solo Jeff and other band members and their bands. Should be fun. We have a recording of the last show and plan to post both somewhere where people can check them out if they choose. Otherwise try and tune in. LouieB
  2. That's the one. A true fan favorite. Thanks all who listened. Tune in again next week. It was a ton of fun. LouieB
  3. Rosie and I have planned out this week and most of next week. We will be doing Wilco and Uncle Tupelo this week and everything else we can cram in during the two hours next week. (How do we get all the associated stuff in?>?) This will be fun. LouieB
  4. Okay. I actually got a laugh out of this. Whomever this guy is I wouldn't mind being him for awhile. LouieB
  5. He did a good one, but Tim's version is pretty world weary and good I think. LouieB
  6. Will check it out later. Mine is a rather muddy audience recording on LP. LouieB
  7. If this were really me I would be on it in a second. But since it isn't I can't take someone else's identity. Guess I will stick with using pics of people who are clearly NOT me. LouieB
  8. Time to pull out the boot of the Hurricane Carter show. The recording is terrible as I recall. LouieB
  9. Taste of Chicago?? Worst event ever, but I guess this will be fun. LouieB
  10. Another friend posted this on Facebook the other day. Let's just say it is me. What the hell. LouieB
  11. Amazingly all of Cream is, considering there was some heavy heroin use going on there. Songs for a Tailor was one of my favorite LPs back in college, but that was a very long time ago. LouieB
  12. Will dedicate Blasting Fonda to you, although I probably won't remember. LouieB
  13. There is an EP that came out just before the new album that is very good too. Look for it; it is worth it. very unfortunately I will be out of town next week when she plays Schubas. Really going to miss being there. LouieB
  14. Hey thanks. I will. Plus I was looking for the two songs with Roger McGuinn which I don't own and they are there too. I guess we will be playing Blasting Fonda too. LouieB
  15. Damn I was going to make that joke. LouieB
  16. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2014-04-17/entertainment/ct-lydia-loveless-schubas-country-bloodshot-record-20140417_1_lydia-loveless-indestructible-machine-verlaine-shot-Rimbaud If you don't know about Lydia Loveless or her new album, here is some background. I don't think we have a thread on here, but maybe some people would be interested. I dunno. LouieB
  17. I do have Burned. It's in the pile for sure. I like Blasting Fonda, but will have to get it off the net if we play it since I don't have a copy. We will play some obscure stuff, but also associated bands too. Listen in for some TLA and some Fred Lonberg-Holm with the young Glenn Kotche. And the real question, will I be allowed to play Pickin' on Wilco. LouieB
  18. While all of you are waiting for Wilco to go back on tour, my daughter and I are going to do a two part Wilco Tribute on her regularly scheduled weekly program "The Devil's Radio" on WDBX.org in Carbondale, IL. Many of you know us in real life, but some of you don't. Some of you have listened to Rosie's show and some of you have not. She does play Wilco and associated bands on a regular basis every Thursday night at 10 PM - 12 AM central time. Although she and I have done theme shows before when I am visiting her, I will be spending two weeks in Carbondale for work, so that gives us two wee
  19. A Muddy Waters museum would not net a dime really. I know that. There are too many issues in the neighborhood where this house is to attract many people. It's just sad I guess. Clearly a Star Wars museum along with some of Lucas' art collection would obviously be a big draw. But this house..... LouieB
  20. There are some other Berkmans floating around ERP I guess. I have never worn a goatee, or if I did only for a short period of time. I wish I had hair like that. LouieB
  21. I wish it was, but it isn't. I did work at the Heartland briefly in 1976, have been in Roys (what was the Red Line Tap), and did haunt Morse Ave.and Farwell Beach. But unfortunately I don't know who this supposed to be or if the artist is named Berkman. Pretty funny though. LouieB
  22. There is an amazing article in the NY Times Magazine this week about Elvie Thomas and Geeshie Wiley, two very obscure femaie blues singers who only recorded a handful of records in 1930 They are amazing records and this story is remarkable. I recommend the online version of the article because it includes information not found in the print edition. But even if this type of music does not interest you, the obsession of the topic is interesting. And also in an era where we know too much about musicians and every show is recorded, this is a revelation. Lots to discuss here I think. Can I make
  23. Thanks for the update on this. I have not been by the house lately. It is amazing that the city has no real interest in this, but does in Lucas' collection which has nothing to do with Chicago. LouieB
