It appears that there is a big time Hollywood movie coming out of the Noah story. I wonder if it will feature dinos on board. Yahoo..... LouieB
-
I have that CD. Some of the worst banjo playing in the history of bluegrass music. This is a fairly mediocre album in general. LouieB
-
Those dinos must have been a handful for Old Noah. LouieB

I love the idea of people and dinosaurs being on earth at the same time. What a wonderful crazy idea. And how insanely stupid and unbelievable. LouieB

Not if you put it like this....but for the people who want a massive military, no gay rights, no legal pot, etc. it looks like the apocalypse. LouieB

Its time for some state to pass one of these horrendous laws and see where it gets them. The world is changing fast and the financial, social, and political fallout will be interesting. Go for it Arizona. Let's make life interesting. LouieB

Interesting I/2 back to back for Glenn at Constellation and Nels at Space the next night. Too bad Nels isn't also at Constellation. Seems like a better fit. LouieB

Brilliant stuff. Saw Animal House at the 400 theater on Sheridan Rd in Rogers Park. Stupid brilliant stuff. Groundhog Day is still one of the best movies ever. LouieB

really. Why up your risk any more than you have to. I like greenbacks myself, even though they are only backed by the US government, I am still going with them. LouieB

Wow, how old was he? Not very. 69. Damn. Met him once very briefly at an art show opening. Too bad!! LouieB

I like him a lot. HIs post Jayhawks records are excellent too. Oh yea, he is a hell of a producer as well. LouieB

Wilco will be back. I don't know why this is even a question. So Jeff makes a solo record with his kid, takes a break for family reasons, and allows his sidemen to have their own careers. Seems like everyone should be okay with this. LouieB
-
I don't see why this is the end of Wilco. We are so used to them relentlessly touring that we have forgotten most bands that have been around for 20 years take extended breaks from touring. No one seems to complain when Radiohead doesn't tour year and year out. Or U2 or any other long term band. If it the end, then they had a great run. Everyone made some money, made some great records, and launched (or enhanced as in Nels case) their careers. what's not to like in that scenario. LouieB

Just a matter of time. Sad though. LouieB

Nora O'Connor with the Flat Five, if I can stay awake. LouieB

Wilco has kept up a frantic touring schedule for the last several years. actually most of its career. Few bands as old as Wilco do that. The fact that after 20 years Jeff is slowing down is not a bad thing really. A nice solo album will be great. Look at all the shows that we can see with individual band members. LouieB

The New Yorker also gave it high praise. This one should be interesting at the very least. LouieB -

Bumping again. Got cabin fever? I've got the cure. Tune in to hear me stumble through the R&B Flashback show Sunday February 9 at 5:30 CT on WNUR.org or 89.3 on the north side. This week I will feature the sounds of the Twin Cities soul and funk scene brought to you by Número Group and Secret Stash Records. Also a selection of Modern Records out of LA, early solo Neville Brothers, and selections from Tompkins Square gospel comp "This May Be My Last Time Singing". Plus all the odds and ends I can fit in during 90 minutes such as new Sharon Jones and a few strange songs to keep it interes
