  1. I don't have an account in my name but my partner uploaded a few. They were rarer things ripped from our vinyl copies (not RIAA stuff) so I think we should be safe. Makes me nervous anyway. This is quite a take down. Score one for the RIAA.
  2. I agree. Same thing with drinking from a carton of "melk."
  3. I have a friend who does that one. He also says "drawling" pictures.
  4. I totally agree. One of my college instructors mentioned during class last week that he doesn't vote because he thinks it's pointless and his vote doesn't really count and all of that jazz. That night, I mailed him a voter registration form and a cute little letter signed Jane A. Voter.
  5. Apples and oranges, I say. True. Heck, I think they already are the most talented band in the Universe. It's not just Jeff...they are all amazing dudes.
  6. ((((((many, many vibes))))))) to you and your family.
  7. Pretty much every night so far this month, my bedtime routine involves stumbling into the dark bedroom, arranging pillows and blankets into a cuddly mountain, and fumbling for the play button on the cd alarm clock for this: Great bedtime cd.
  8. I'm all about seeing them together from time to time. Bird is right up there with Wilco in my top five favorite current artists. I'm just opposed to any kind of full force changes to the band. I think they've got enough badass chemistry just as they are. Also, I wasn't at any of these shows, but the Bird with Wilco video someone so kindly posted doesn't really portray a lot of Bird+Wilco onstage chemistry to me. Maybe it was different for those in the crowd, but for me it was pure awesomeness just to see these two acts that I adore together, more of a novelty thing then an actual "Wow. They ar
  9. Andrew Bird does this in the lyrics for "Fake Palindromes" and I love it.
  10. I think they still work that way!
  11. Not exactly a funny misspoken thing but I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for my random use of ellipses and parenthesis. Thank you for you patience and understanding...I'll figure it out eventually.
  12. I don't know about how it was way back then (wink) but not so long ago when I was 19, I went to a strip "club." The ladies were allowed to get completely nakey but the only beer in the place was non-alcoholic (juice bar)...so it was pretty much up to the patrons to get plenty wasted before going to the place. The rules around here are that the dancers can show it all in a juice bar and are supposed to wear pasties and keep the nether regions covered in an actual strip bar where booze is served. I actually know a guy who did this a couple of years ago. He's kind of an asshole.
  13. I really like Wilco just as it is. It's like adding one stroke too many to a painting...even if it's a really lovely stroke (and Bird is), it can still mess up the painting.
  14. I posted them in the shoes thread a couple of weeks ago but here they are again in all their cute glory:
  15. Oh happy day! Winnings have arrived! Lots of goodies: SCORE!!! (plus the shoes we got a while back) Thanks Wilcoworld!
  16. Any thought can be an idea, but only the best ideas worth pursuing are ideals.
  17. That's great! Loved "When the Roses Bloom Again," neat to see them playing to the empty theater. "Wow."
  18. He is up for re-election. He's republican and our district leans that way so he'll prob be okay. I actually have one of those signed letter replies things they send out from their offices when you contact them. It's cute...he agrees with me that public broadcasting is a valuable asset and should be adequately funded. Edit: isadorah, my rep voted against the D.C. House Voting Rights act. Sorry about that. He's nuts. I didn't vote for him.
  19. I wonder why he's not doing it in Nashville?
  20. Made my day. I just exploded with joy!
  21. That Nudie suit just keeps wowing me. Hummingbirds and bees!
  22. When watching "Over the Hedge" with my daughter, I really enjoyed the (reworked) lyrics to Ben Folds' "Rockin' the Suburbs" They touch on a lot of things that bother me in this country and they're funny!: Let me tell y'all what it's like watching "Idol" on a friday night In a house built safe and sound on Indian burial grounds Sham on We drive our cars everyday to and from work both ways So we make just enough to pay to drive our cars to work each day Hey, hey We're rockin' the suburbs around the block just one more time We're rockin' the suburbs 'Cause I can't tell which house is mine
