ok, not to split hairs here, and i think someone already pointed this out, but the DC show is indeed the 2nd 9:30 club show, not the first one (that is on the DVD). it is the one that was streamed on NPR. it's a great show, but my greedy grubby hands wanted a great recording of the first show because it had so much energy and was very different from the second night. of course somewhere in my recent past, i got a flac for the first show, but the quality just isn't there. ah well. maybe i should start coming the inter-net to find a better flac for the first night. and of course, don't get m

The account sign up is a little different from what is described in the help section when you click from the link on the wilcoworld tour page. You input your email address, name, and phone number then they email you a password. When you get the password, you sign in with your email address and the provided password. under account you can change the password and input your address information. I attempted to create an account using my hotmail email and the password never arrived in my inbox. I checked the junk mail folder, the spam settings, everything and this is what was recommended by Fro

i just called my local independent record store and ordered mine over the phone to pick up on monday (because i will be out of town and unplugged all weekend). i am with gogo on unreliable muscitoday. it was fun to chat with the record store folks about the dvd and downloads and pre-release parties, and record store day, etc. ah independent record stores.

think of it from an artist perspective, it might not necessarily be about the money and possible sales later. somethings get shelved because someone somewhere decided it wasn't suitable for release. sometimes it is because the artist didn't want it out there because it wasn't a good reflection of their artistic vision. someone gave me a leaked Patty Griffin album once that she had made and then shelved it because she didn't like the material. it really isn't that good and i can see why she didn't like it or want it to represent her as an artist. it happens in the visual arts all the time with

isadorah replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
at first glance i thought this said time travel. -
that was very nice of them, and good of them. looks like we're gonna have to update the pinned music today ticket buying thread now that there's a new system (once we get the new system figured out).

nope. i checked that. nothing. i tried again with my "private" account, the one i don't usually put out there on the internet to limit the junk mail and like magic it worked. so i am guessing there is something to the junkmail/blocking, but usually these things show up in the junk folder. who knows. the internet is such a touchy thing. at least i got my password, really that's all that matters, , right?

anyone else have any problems getting an account set-up with the new ticketing group? i made my account, but *sigh* the email with the password never arrived.

ummm, but you're the one that said "I doubt if they'll do that again" but i guess you meant "again for the summer tour." they filmed parts of the Ashes dvd at the 9:30club. so i guess we agree, they'll play the 9:30club again, just not in the summer.
-
They love the 9:30 club, but reserve those shows for winter months and do the outdoor venues in the summer. I am sure there will be 9:30 club shows in the future, just not on the summer tours.

true about boatload, but you know people started saying that just to avoid saying butt, .
-
those are great! is that SNOW??? ugggh it needs to get warm already.
-
saying boatload instead of buttload. it bugs me when people do this. i am sure they do it to be proper and not use the word butt. except buttload is the actual proper word. it is in fact a unit of measure: metric buttload (n.), 1. 2.4710439 English buttlodes. 2. the capacity of the platinum-iridium International Standard butt, which is housed in Sevres, France, along with the platinum-iridium kilogram and the old bar with the scratches that used to be the standard meter. A butt is a barrel/vat that was used to transport beer in back in the day.

thanks, . I knew I was missing something. it is monday and i did leave my coffee at home. *sigh* -- William Wegman made the list. oooh. well, ummm, that's good for me since i did get to be in a show and have my piece hung next to wegman's piece, but really, william wegman, why not anne gedies (or whoever the baby flower photograph woman is). i'm just not a big wegman fan.

am i missing something or is the next button missing on my page, the list only goes through M for me. hmmmppph. Diane Arbus Robert Frank Wassily Kandinsky Barbara Kruger Ellsworth Kelly El Lissitzky I am disappointed they didn't put Hannah Hoch on the list, but her counterparts made it. *sigh*

this probably doesn't count, but i'll post it anyway, . MINI has an advertisement in Pandora to promote the new-redesigned convertible. there are four MINI stations you can choose with the ad, sunshine, stormy, snowy, and night. Each station plays a completely different type of music (sunshine gave me Steely Dan). The snowy station just played "Red-eyed and Blue". I know you can create your own wilco pandora station, but since it is part of the MINI ad, that means someone went in and set something so bands like wilco would pop up in the snowy station. MINI knows the way to my heart.
