:lol the best recommendation yet!!!

They will post info about the pre-sale/sale below each concert date. At the bottom of the shows page there is a place to click to subscribe to the RSS feed, then you'll know when the website has been updated and you can check the latest info on the tour schedule and sales (without being too obsessive).

ahhh, I hear that all the time! I'm a twig, eat beef is everyone's mantra to the "i need to gain weight" statement. just don't tell me to eat a salad, those are fighting words. thanks for the recommendations! so many options to choose from. i miss living in a big (real) city.

I'm flying into Chicago Friday afternoon to go to the show at the Vic. Anyone got suggestions on a place to grab dinner before the show. Something on the vegetarian friendly side. Thanks.

the Atlanta venue really isn't worth the drive? are you sure? i too am hoping for a VA/DC venue. that would be ideal, especially if everything else in my life falls into order. can that hurry up already so i can plan my wilco concert schedule.

That's a good idea, I'll try that. I've scavenged ebay, it seems most of these beauts are missing the needle.

Thanks Analogman. I swear, I'm really not a ditz, I just seem to phrase my questions to come across as one. I've been directed to NeedleDoctor before, but can't seem to get any info as to what type of needle the turntable actually takes. As with my Bob Edwards post, I continue to dig and hopefully the bigger mystery will be solved.

Maybe someone has a source for this or some advice: I have a very old (ca. 1950s maybe) Magnavox cabinet stereo. The kind that's a piece of furniture with a radio and record player built in. It's quite lovely and still works except one snag, the record player is missing its needle. I called Magnavox, but they were rather clueless as to where to get a replacement needle and even worse what kind of needle I would need to get. Anyone know anything about record needles and or the old school cabinet stereos? Thanks!

I just sent back: Elephant Man Babel Stranger Than Fiction The Departed Have: The Devil Wears Prada Borat (what a combination to have at once) Coming Soon: Rivers and Tides Children of Men For Your Consideration The Science of Sleep I'm with Owl on the not so much recommendation of Babel. A coworker of mine is still giving me a hardtime for not giving it 5 stars. The costumes in Marie Antoinette are incredible!

1. I Am Trying to Break Your Heart 2. She's a Jar 3. Forget the Flowers 4. Sunken Treasure 5. Heavy Metal Drummer ( i really miss those heavy metal bands...) and I do love it when Jeff unplugs his guitar and does Acuff Rose at concerts, but then that reminds me of someone else's song and it will of course change in ten minutes.

i always thought of it something similar to a virgin ghost, brand new and unscathed to the world around it. precious and pristine, but still a ghost, someone new and fresh (as a spirit) from what they once were. but, eh, i guess that doesn't quite go with what Jeff's been quoted on the subject. i do like the cherry tree theory!

i didn't even notice the second link you listed. gawd sometimes i feel like the biggest ditz. we must have found that link at the same time. thanks again for the help!
-
Thanks for the help! The XM link on that one is gone, but there are some other great links/interviews on there. Will have to check those out. I did some more digging (through the endless google pages) and found it linked through someone's blog. The link turned out to be: http://wilcoworld.net/roadcase/audio/wilco_bobedwards.mp3 which works (although interesting enough, you can't get to this from the front of the wilcoworld website. Thanks again for the help!

I'd tried that, but all the links I could find were showing up as dead ends. Carrying on though and continuing to search.

I keep seeing mentions of the Bob Edwards interview with Jeff and would love to hear it, but can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyone know how to get this?
-
thanks again to Susan and Jeff for doing this! got my tickets, my mom's joining me, how fun...she and i haven't liked the same music since i was 10 (and, gasp, that was when George Michael's Faith was big).
-
i'd take yankee hotel foxtrot, being there, and sky blue sky, oh but wait that splits of the trio groupings...
-
when i first heard the song live, it wasn't my favorite. sounded a bit forced. but when i heard it in the context of the entire album i really liked it.
-
how exciting and great! i'd make a trip up to Chicago from Nashville for that!
-
it's said that since at least oct of last year from what i remember. i checked a couple of days after the huntsville show when someone handed me a copy of the show and i had to know how in the world that was possible.

I like Either Way as an opener. My favorite (I know it will change from day to day for who knows how long) is "What Light" although "Please Be Patient With Me" is right behind it. I keep jumping back and forth between the two singing them in my head. What a beautiful album!

kindly asking for a PM. thanks! ----------- got it! thanks so much!

let's sing praises to NPR. this morning they did a story on fresh cut flowers with the pleasant surprise of playing "Forget the Flowers" afterwards.
-
the recording is AMAZING! thanks for posting it. what a great show! did anyone else get to meet Jeff afterwards (by the bus). haven't seen any chatter about that part.

Jeff talked about the new album tonight in Nashville

"Please Tell My Mother" one of my friends was lucky enough to be sitting on the same row as that guy, he got removed near the end of the concert, not soon enough. it was a great show and jeff was quite funny, but i agree, the audience went a bit far with the banter and special requests. ah, but the music was amazing. can't wait to go to Birmingham.
