  1. i was about to mention jhymn, but haven't used it for a while. damn it, itunes caught up with it. it's only a matter of time and we'll be able to unlock those files again.
  2. scenario: someone asks for a sampling of wilco songs because they've never heard any wilco before and are really interested in the band. you can fit 18 songs on a disc, what would those songs be? Here's my list (it was extremely hard to narrow it down), am curious to what others would do. I Am Trying to Break Your Heart I'm The Man Who Loves You She's A Jar Forgt the Flowers Either Way How to Fight Loneliness Muzzle of Bees Airline to Heaven It's Just that Simple Via Chicago Poor Places Jesus, Etc. Theologians Impossible German Hell is Chrome Side With the Seeds Hummingbird What Light
  3. my guess is "Sky Blue Sky" and then a second song later that will be a non-Sky Blue Sky selection, like "Muzzle of Bees". Really i think they're gonna play "what light"
  4. thanks so much for the heads up! just got it. down with the "album only" stuff.
  5. I too have toyed with this idea, but reality set in and there's just not enough time for me...bummer I did just finish reading Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing. Highly recommend it! Now reading: The Constant Gardner by John le Carre
  6. I have an ibook and absolutely LOVE it, but then again I was born and bred on Macs. I haven't worked on the Macbooks though (you are talking about the new intel machines right?), but for the most part have heard good things. One thing to be warned of, they get HOT, very very hot. Mac's been trying to solve that problem for years, with the G5 processors, it's hard to keep the heat down (my quad at work is a space heater). The intel processor switch over was supposed to help solve this problem. The upside of the Macbooks is that if there is ever a need (although I have yet to figure out why on

  9. http://www.hostels.com/en/availability.php/HostelNumber.1853 This link was posted in an earlier topic when folks were heading to Chicago for Jeff's solo show at the Vic. Thougth it might be helpful. I'm not actually from Chicago, so can't really help much but thought since that was posted before, it might be of some help.

  13. a very mean doctor. ok he wasn't mean, he was actually rather spot on, but technically it was the nurse that told me, she wasn't mean either, just what she had to say wasn't what i wanted to hear. the doctor really has actually proven to be rather clueless, but the nurse was spot on. and now my life is depressing without cheese, healthy but depressing because we all know everything is better with cheddar!
  14. i talked to a guy at musictoday to see if i could change my shipping address and he said i still had plenty of time to get it changed before they send tickets out. [i hope he meant plenty of days and not plenty of hours.]
  15. "Mr. Brownstone" Guns N' Roses "Sally Sue Brown" Bob Dylan "John Brown" Bob Dylan "Mrs. Leroy Brown" Loretta Lynn "Sally"
  16. i can't remember the last time i laughed so hard at a movie! it was great! and yeah when the old lady got dropped kicked, absolute hysterics!
  17. my list would include cheese, cheese, and cheese as well as beer, wine, and any delicious baked good. then one day i was actually told i couldn't have those things anymore, talk about depressing.
  18. do a search in itunes for What Light and when you get to the page for the single that lists the customer reviews check out the first review listed. i chuckled, ok i laughed outloud.
  19. I agree completely. I might be wrong, but didn't he join Dylan just after Time Out of Mind was released and was a part of the endless tour that started with Time Out of Mind? Because of that, there seems to be a natural affiliation with him and that album, for me anyway.
