  1. and regulate the drug companies, tv commercials for drugs should be banned. the france bit really made me want to move to france, even more than england or canada. there are definitely enough working systems out there for us to model something after, but i really wonder, can we ever achieve it. i think i am so bitter and jaded about our government, i wonder if the politicians can ever get beyond the greed, money, and power and worry more about the people they represent than if they'll get re-elected. it makes me wonder if we instituted term limits on congress, if maybe then, change would act
  2. oh wait, i was right in front of the couple from philly (i was the one with the short pixie hair, black shirt, green skirt), but definitely next to you dancing around (am living in DC these days), the guy with the blonde curly hair was right there with us too. did you hear that it was his first show and he was missing his high school graduation to be there. we'll definitely have to touch base before the next show we go to!
  3. oh, i'd forgotten that it had been on the net. it was an interesting experience to see it in the theater, the whole audience interaction thing. i too liked it. the first half was very michael moore for me, but about half-way through, when he was interviewing the older guy in london, it completely changed for me and really moved me. my only complaint, we know the system is messed up, but arrgh, is there really any way to fix it, and any suggestions as to how...???
  4. i caught the very end of it, a guy driving around in a red vw bug (i think), parks it and goes away, then a girl walks up and gets in. now that i try to recap it, i guess i really was half-paying attention since tech support came on the phone right when the music came on bah. maybe they have it up on the vw site now.
  5. i was next to you!! wow. i was thinking about it the other day as i was reading posts and connecting a couple other people around me at the various shows i was at this week. we should have some secret VCer code so we'll know right away who is on the board without having that awkward ice breaker...so are you on ViaChicago (which i tried at the Vic theater fundraising show to a guy who had never been to a show before or really listented to wilco, it was great).
  6. Here here! yay! I'm with you. did you see the Either Way one yet?
  7. so sad. am so sorry. your story was very touching and it sounds like you gave her a great life and the family is taking it well. there aren't enough people in the world with such generous and big hearts!
  8. went to the sneak preview/screen test of SiCKO this weekend. anyone else see it on the big screen this weekend? thoughts?
  9. i'll be heading to nashville mid-july to install an art show, a little shameless self-promotion here, if you have time while you're there for your reunion, stop by the metro arts gallery on 2nd ave south. the art show opens July 19. that's what my summer vacation is going to be, installing my art. aside from the above pseudo-work, the atlanta/charlotte/DC wilco circuit was my summer vacation. hopefully i'll get a full relaxing vacation in the fall, maybe hike the grand canyon or something. anyone have any suggestions/experiences with the grand canyon??
  10. not to keep bringing this up, but just saw a 4th one. didn't catch the whole thing because i was on the phone with computer technical support. either way. is all i'm gonna say.
  11. wow! wonder if the guy had been to the atlanta show and knew how important the weather is to a wilco show.
  12. maybe expand the side-projects category to contain all of wilco's side projects instead of just jeff's. ok, he can't truly speak for everyone in the band, but i have a question in mind that relates not only jeff's side projects but everyones. i second the touring category.
  13. nice! we could make it into a fundraising thing (that's probably what you meant by raffle), but keep it at a level playing field, not something that simply goes to the highest bidder. or is that overdone already? or we could do a big ellaborate questionaire like that guy on craig's list that was looking for a date to take to a wilco concert.
  14. ha ha. ok, i meant who's gonna wrangle and handle the free for all of questions that will populate this thread, etc etc. i'm never clear on here and always come across as a complete airhead. just ask analogman.
  15. check the After the Show section. there's a whole thread of reviews, setlists, and a couple ways to get this.
  16. side with seeds with the great moody intro they've been doing on the tour.
  17. what a great idea! let's do it! so how do we start fielding questions to narrow down?
  18. my laptop battery died about two hours ago and had to reboot. I've got it up again and have green smileys showing for my seeding. hope this helps some folks out!
  19. i too hope it shows up on bt etree. dime has reached capacity of registered users and won't let any newbies in.
  20. i just saw the sky blue sky one (too)!
  21. last night when Jeff introduced the owl and asked for more Macram
  22. thanks so much. my internet at home is all wacky with my recent move, so am thrilled you'll host a senspace for us digitally challenged!
  23. low went on at 7:30 and wilco at 8:45.
  24. at one point in the show jeff asked how the folks on the lawn were doing and they turned the lights up, i turned around to have a look and it was packed, all you could see were people, however, before the show started the sections in the back to the side of the stage were completely empty, i couldn't tell during the show if those seats had been filled or stayed empty.
  25. oh yeah, and the owl did make an appearance in columbia!
