  1. I have one half-finished. Am hoping to send it over to Wilco base by the end of the week this week. I'll post when I finish it.
  2. makes me want to watch First Blood again. I vaguely remember that the first one was extremely different in storyline and "theme" from the sequels. Almost a bit wrong the way the character was shifted into for the sequels. I was a bit nervous about Rocky Balboa and I too thoroughly enjoyed that movie, so I will of course give this a go. My dad's gonna love it! I agree with Analogman. Copland has to be Stallone's finest work. He took a serious pay cut to do that movie and I think gained something like 40 lbs. and it somehow stalled out his career. It was such a great role for him and he did su
  3. interesting, i miss the grit and the grime!! i grew up for a time in the south. who knew how much of a city girl i had become. it's going to be a lot of fun being back. walking everywhere, playing soccer on the mall in the shadow of the lincoln memorial and getting stuck in traffic because of a motorcade. ah, good times! enjoy the rhinestones!
  4. I agree with this. I think he does a good job at getting people to at least talk about things we're all shy away from talking about (across the isle anyway). It's almost like MoveOn.org though, good intentions, but doesn't know when to limit it. So everything is taken so far that the actual message is lost. I'll definitely go see Sicko. and will have lots of great debates and discussions about it afterward. I do find it interesting, even if Michael Moore is using it to help hype the film, that the administration is still jumping and maneuvering to stay one step ahead of him/keeping the publ
  5. My vinyl has arrived! it came in 99% good shape. one corner dinged. not bad. such a precious thing to hold. would i be a complete dork to frame the liner notes??
  6. I was about to make the same request.

  8. will be out in theaters June 29th (hopefully). that is if the administration doesn't confiscate it first. Michael Moore just sent out an email giving a summary of the recent turn of events surrounding the film and those in the white house. a snip it from the email: "Bush's Treasury Secretary, Henry Paulson, launched an investigation of a trip I took to Cuba to film scenes for the movie. These scenes involve a group of 9/11 rescue workers who are suffering from illnesses obtained from working down at Ground Zero. ...This preemptive action taken by the Bush administration on the eve of the "
  9. am sitting here working on some freelance work, the colbert report on in the background. half paying attention and what do i hear???? "I Hate it Hear". look up to see a wilco commercial promoting sky blue sky using the drawings and birds and such from the album artwork as well as quotes from reviews and at the very end, the best buy logo and maybe someone saying something. i was in awe. and now Tom Delay is on, .
  10. Wilco (that's a given though isn't it) nail polish (that's not pink) books (lots and lots of books) Lost parenthesis (anytime i type)
  11. am listening to mine now (cd). BUTTER!! maybe it's all in my head, but wow what a difference!
  12. maybe that's why I didn't like TN, I never knew there was a theme song. rats!
  13. i got an email saying my DC tickets (ok technically MD) had been shipped, but nothing on Atlanta.
  14. oh that's not very comforting. i ordered the vinyl. and it has not arrived yet either. gulp. oh dear, i hope it is not lost in the mail. interesting enough, i ordered the cd/dvd from an indy store in oregon and it arrived today via snail mail. huh, i think musicnextweek might be an understatement.
  15. Atlanta, Charlotte, and DC!
  16. a lot locale, some people, some work. i am gonna miss the music. it truly does permeate everything here. the audiences at shows, not so much, but i think i became very spoiled living in DC and then moving to a significantly smaller town. really i miss the DC grocery stores.
  17. In 2 weeks, I'll be living in DC again! Yay! goodbye Nashville, hello happiness!
  18. Really???? NO! there's another topic about wilco making it mainstream, maybe that day has come.
  19. I think it would be great. Then again, I think everyone in the world should be listening to wilco. I don't think it would change the band either. They already make a great effort to keep concert ticket prices at a reasonable rate ($30 to see wilco at the Ryman vs. $80 to see Def Leppard anywhere, ok I might have just lost a bit of credibility by mentioning Def Lep, but I digress). If anything, the band becoming more popular and more mainstream might mean more rarities for the die-hard fans. They already do a lot/release a lot for the loyal followers through their website and other sources that
  20. I am still patiently waiting for my vinyl to arrive, but can't wait! There's much anticipation to hear the real thing vs. the 3rd wave digital that I have. I Hate it Hear glitches out on me a lot and I can only imagine what the layering in Impossible Germany sounds like in true form. Maybe just maybe my package will arrive today. *sigh*
