ah yes, the best quote by analogman, "The great thing about that guy is that he has something for everyone". totally agree! From Gram Parsons to Black Flag to Grateful Dead to The Smiths to Voivod to The Rolling Stones to The Cars to "80′s, ninjas, cigarettes, sex, and pizza." something for everyone.

Despite III/IV or 29 or Easy Tiger, one of his best records that showcases his great writing/singing/etc is The Elizabethtown Sessions. Lets not forget that one.

good thing ryan doesnt post on this site, he would definitely rebuttle some of these points. he usually rebuttles people on ryanadamsarchive.com. he blasted one guy's negative review. ha!

Any Love Here for "The Walking Dead"?
Smokestack Joe replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
winston i agree that is was weak in the whole zombie attack-zombie kill area. the show focuses more on humanity and pure blood and gore. -- i laugh over the lawnmower zombie kill. In the PS3 game, Dead Rising 2, you can do the exact same kill. attack two pieces of 2x4 wood to the mower and shave down the zombies. ha! -
i agree with you nodep5. Ryan has his own label now so he doesnt have the pressure of putting out records that the record company wants. he puts out his music. it may sound experimental or that he is not serious or fooling around with his voice, but its what he wants to do at that moment. I dont mind that type of musicianship. Jay Farrar doesnt experiment much. Well ok, he put some trumpets/horn section in some of his songs, but they all are in the same neighborhood musically. and that is fine. Ryan has gone to Smiths-type music to Dead music to heavy metal stuff. i think that is cool. IF

the acting isnt superb but wasnt expecting it to be. i could have used more zombie-killing scenes but i get their angle-human relations, humanity.... overall, i enjoyed it. like to see more 'serious' zombie movies/shows, not just B movie stuff, eventhough those are great. Zombie Strippers was a trip. -
these reviews are interesting. i havent listened to III/IV yet. holding out until i get the LP. The reviews dont seem all that positive but I wasnt expecting this new record to be filled with songs like Cold Roses and Peaceful Valley. The guy should do another Heartbreaker record.

Spoon: Bonus Songs 2008-2009
Smokestack Joe replied to choo-choo-charlie's topic in Someone Else's Song
i downloaded about6 of the songs on the tracklist when they offered them from their website. The Cherry Bomb Country version is worth price of admission by itself. -

funny i had a similar thought too. i was watching the recent episode of TWD in my basement (its a finished one) and thought if a zombie attacked me in my basement, what would i use as a weapon? i looked around the room and i realized i would have to attack it with my hands to ward it off in order to get to my tools which is in another room through a door. if i got in there i would use a hammer or a scratch awl. i dont have many power tools. damn, i dont like my chances. I must rectify this situation in preparation! -

maybe Daytrotter went with jay farrar instead......um, unlikely.

amazon.com has the MP3 download and the 30 second clips of the songs. Dec 14th is the release date. Music Direct pretty much has the same deal as Pax Am except I don't believe they are offering the download of the demos of the tracks but otherwise they are offering the LPs, poster, download MP3 of album for 29.99.

as a big zombie fan, im all about the show. sure, the acting may not be superb, no, there aren't notable actors, but it is exciting and good plot thus far. yes love the eating of the horse, havent seen that before. wonder if the horse will come back zombie and attack. -
