I read many months ago that they 'were' recording their new rekkid. Not true ?

There's no copyright, so absolutely. (There's one with Jimmy standing right next to Bill Graham right before they played) Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones Ah, ok. They use to show it at the UC Theatre on University in Berkeley years ago. I see it's still not available. Mick Taylor on guitar. (sweet) Have you heard this A+ recording ? http://conqueror-of-the-moon.blogspot.com/...air-101773.html

Nice, thanks. You read my mind. What's the quality like ? I can post some backstage photos of Day 1 that my older brother took. ( I need to scan'em) ....and Day 2 (not so good 30 yards back upfront) I remember waiting at least 3 hours in the heat for Zep to take the stage and getting squished in the process. I'll never forget the PA announcer coming on apologizing for the delay cos Page was having some trouble with "his double-neck" guitar. What a canard. Little did we know they were threatening NOT to play if Bill Graham didn't sign a waiver releasing them of any liabilty cos Bonham pummel

Eh, looks right. While some of the shows I know are exact time frames, others I will admit could be a a year away in either direction. What I do remember as a soon to be 16 year-old as being incredibly bored by the Dead. (I wish I knew then what I know now). The other thing I remember....50,000 people surging forward as Townsend's guitar hit that Open E chord after the keyboard intro of Baba O'Reily. Incredible rock n roll moment.

Unbelievable show at Bottom of The Hill in SF last night. Chill inducing vocal harmonies that were as seamless as anyone I've seen the last five years or so. As much as the record has grown on me the last few months, the live show topped it by a mile. Funny, good natured guys on stage as well. Do yourself a favor and check'em out. You will not be disappointed.

Robert Pollard - Is Off To Business is easily the best thing he's done since FaCE. It is no surprise that Robert Pollard

I apologize, but I simply could not get through the whole record. Whatever was left of Chris Martin's conviction has been lost in a haze of overwrought production.

An amazing, ghostly tapestry of eerie echoes, distant sounds and interjected rifts representing the band that was playing even as the boat sank. This is a masterpiece that rewards repeated listenings. Tweedy would be all over this.

...and I respect him for loving it.

Well played, yes. Unfortunately technique is nothing more than a failed style.

The "one" thing they got right was Nel's solo on the opening track. It's George Benson 'cringe-worthy'. That said, I could care less what those paintywaist pedigreed bookend dweebs over at Bitchfork have to say.

Paging Dr Wilco: Get the defibrillators and save this album

Dear Jude, You need to listen to the record 5 or 6 more times. Then enroll in a course on non-fiction writing. Then punch a clock for a few years to gain life experience. Then scam free albums from your day job. Then consider writing for a jerkwater music website. Then think better of it and slink off into the night. -
That's correct. "The Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga ghost of you lingers" "A Series of Sneaks" is one of the best records of the nineties.

What's important to mention is Jay's melody coupled with Woody's lyrics are what make the song. The rest = ornamentation. -
