  1. sad news. air mcnair was my favorite. tough SOB. hard to imagine anything but murder/suicide but there were other random events of that evening that will likely cause a delay in a final conclusion.

  3. nolasco is rounding into elite starter shape imo. what was his deal before going to the minors? mechanics, social anxiety, non-sinking sinker?
  4. the choppiness improved greatly for me with kidsmoke's link. that was a nice version of cant stand it.

  6. thriller was a huge deal for me. released when i was 10 and obsessed with mtv. sad news no matter how freakish he eventually became. agree as well on feeling old.

  8. while recognizing the greatness of at dawn, i liked both z and evil urges a lot. honestly.

  15. highlights for me: 1. Phoenix - wow. very fun live. sounded great and i love their new album. (played midnight to 1 am ish on friday) 2. Wilco - was able to sit on the stage above the band, which was a great spot for the show. they really seem to enjoy playing bonnaroo and sounded great. 3. P.E. - was not expecting the entirety of It Takes A Nation and flavor flav really seemed coherent which was a plus 4. Springsteen - sitting in the structure where they were recording and mixing the performance was an amazing vantage point. free tall boy budweisers only helped. i had only seen

  17. yes. cannot wait to see if they play any new songs on saturday. live version of BBN was quite good (imo).
  18. i posted something about them here a couple of years ago and it sank quickly (i.e. without response). they are fun, and i will definitely check out the new one.
  19. a friend gave me a copy, but i have not listened to it yet. i enjoy seeing them play but have never listened to any of their previous albums.
  20. my condolences to his family and friends. sad news, indeed. 11.23.97 (tweedy/bennett) will start a long stretch of music today in appreciation of a wonderful musician. thanks, Jay.
