Cool! I didn't know about most of those sites so thanks for the heads up.

Television and Mission of Burma were around the 2 to 4 mark too. The only thing this poll is succeeding in is showing the musical ignorance of the people voting.

Just about finished this one: In parts funny, cringe-inducing, and often both. I could relate to his adolescent exploits all too well. Finally got around to starting this one the other day:

Just because the words have stopped doesn't mean the story is over though. Sure, some stories end with a resolution, all wrapped up nice and clean like a TV sitcom; but there are also those that are open ended, begging the reader to contemplate what happens next. The same could be said of songs. Anyhow, I was just trying to say earlier that it would be very limiting for an artist to only ever do things one way. If you want music with definitive endings, listen to the blues. Songs in that genre almost always end without a fade out .

That's sort of how I feel about it. Some songs just feel right riding out on the chorus (or outro, or whatever), some are better served by a resounding last chord. In general though, I must admit I prefer a proper ending instead of the easy cop out of the fade out. Nevertheless, to continue with the book analogy: you wouldn't want to end every story with THE END, and the same goes with songs.

Very nice! So what instrument(s) do you play on this track?

Prince is a good choice. Heck, there was a time I would've gone with Prince myself (that string of records from Purple Rain to Sign 'O' the Times is pretty tough to beat.) On the other hand, Dylan and Westerberg are two of my favorite songwriters... Minnesota is a tough State to call. For overall talent I'd go with Prince; for lyrical brilliance Dylan, and for heartfelt emotion Westerberg.

How I Met Your Mother has grown on me over the years. Now it's one of my favorite comedies (great writing and cast, plus some great songs/artists used: Wilco, The Replacements...) I watched Earl the other day with my girlfriend, and even she is now saying that the show has gone down big time. Personally I thought it started to dwindle after Season 1. The Office, though not as uniformly great as it once was, still has the ability to make me laugh on occasion. Having said that, I think 30 Rock may have surpassed its NBC rivals to become their best comedy.
