Thanks for the heads up, I didn't realize it was coming back so soon .

An Aussie/Grant Page/Brian Trenchard-Smith doublebill Watched this last night: The movie jumps between the antics of stuntman Grant Page and the hard rock band/magic act Sorcery. No real plot but good fun 70s style. Halfway through this:

I love these media manufactured controversies based on "so what/who cares" stories. They need to conjure up something sensational every day, it seems mainstream media and TMZ are indistinguishable these days. The day before it was Lindsey Von vs. Julia Mancuso. Maybe today it might be something about the Swedes corking their curling brooms.

Bill Fox - Shelter from the Smoke (This is such a great Power Pop record.)

I already have more than enough live Wilco, and I'm more of a studio guy anyway, so choice #1 easily.

Aw shucks, thanks . And here's a few from Prague: 1. view from above (can't recall where I took it at the moment) 2. Wenceslas Square (our first hotel was right by this sculpture) 3. Charles Bridge at sunrise (best time for photos, and there's hardly anyone around) 4. The "Fred and Ginger" building. Worth a trek to the outskirts of town to view.

I loved those as a kid. I think I must have had about 20 of them on my bookshelf. Another series I loved as a kid: The Three Investigators

^^ I played the crap out of that one when I was younger, even learned a couple of the songs on guitar. To my ears that record is far too tasteful and melodic to be considered a "shredder" album. Shredder records usually have names like Di Meola, or Malmsteen attached to them.

I second these picks, especially Cesky Krumlov, such a beautiful town, really must be seen. Here's a few photos from my trip a few years ago: Cesky Krumlov Sedlec, just outside Kutna Hora And if you feel like a brewery tour, the Pilsner Urquell one in the town of Plzen is worth a visit: As for Prague, I think you probably already have this covered. I will suggest a cool bar we went to a few times that had good and cheap beer--I really liked the dark beer they had on draught--with a nice ambience. I believe it's called U Vejvodů. It's set in a 400-500 year old building. I recall

Two artists that I've always admired greatly. Nice review, thanks for sharing it . -
I'd probably take it over any Rhett Miller song but that's just me.

I've been watching both NBC and CTV coverage--CBC didn't get the Olympics this time around--and both talked quite incessantly about the lack of Gold at home. I think that story angle was all about building excitement and hype for the Olympics because frankly it wasn't that big an issue for Canadians, at least the ones I've talked to.
