  1. I quite enjoyed it. It's just Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson; it's pretty much like listening to two old friends reminiscing. They talk about how badly the film tested, and how they had 1 positive comment out of a group of 500. They actually memorized the card and used it to keep them motivated . They get into the casting of the roles, and things they liked and would have changed and other such details involved in making the film. Worth a listen after watching for sure. Tonight I might tackle disc 2.
  2. Both are acceptable terms as far as I know... maybe that wasn't the best example to use .
  3. Watched a few over the past week:

  5. We still have an active thread covering this http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?sho...&start=1040
  6. Blow Out, the American cousin of Blow-Up. Both films are quite good. I was pleasantly surprised by Miracle Mile. It was a lot better than I thought it be. I'm surprised the studio okayed the ending.
  7. Not sure how many outside of Canada know this guy .
  8. Sweet, funny, romantic and great music to wrap it all up in. It don't get much better than this.
  9. I caught up on season 2 a few months back--watched the whole thing in a few days. Once you get started you just can't stop. Agreed, Deb had some great lines, especially the ones aimed at Dexter's British girlfriend.
  10. I prefer Shock Corridor overall, but White Dog is still quite good. It's a lot more violent and straightforward with its message, but also more thought provoking than Shock Corridor in regards to racism. Having a dog as the perpetrator of the hate crimes really made the impact of the message more powerful I believe. My only issue with White Dog was that a few scenes lacked verisimilitude. A lot of that probably had to do with the way scenes were written and edited, more so than the actual cast. It's a minor qualm and the overall film worked for me so I can't complain. I'd give it a 4 out of
  11. 2 good thrillers, an entertaining flashback to the 70-90s Manchester scene, and finally a Van Damme film worth watching.

  13. Finally out on CD--Power pop fans rejoice!
  14. I gave up on the show about a month back and deleted the 3-4 shows that were still sitting on the Tivo. The unbelievable character turns, convoluted plots, and seemingly unfocused storytelling finally pushed me beyond the point of caring.
  15. Last 2 films watched: White Dog is an interesting look at racism. Parts of it didn't work for me but overall it's worth checking out. Coma is a pretty good hospital thriller. Genevieve Bujold carries the film quite nicely.
  16. One of the problems with this coalition is, the BQ is not a party for Canadians, they're a party for Quebecer's and Quebecer's only. I guess these parties will align with anyone as long as they seize control.
  17. Marvin Gaye - In Our Lifetime (Expanded Edition)
