Vanishing Point and Two-Lane Blacktop have to be my favorite car related movies. Not as good as those other two, but Dirty Mary Crazy Larry would make the list as well.

Fleetwood Mac - Tusk

I'd call it eclectic: Brazilian Pop with touches of Bossa nova and Tropicalia. It ranges from acoustic songs, to rhythmic latin grooves with electric guitar. Beautiful stuff! All Music Guide Review

Well if you liked that one PopTodd, you'll probably dig what I'm playing now too . Novos Baianos - Acabou Chorare (I seem to be in a Brazilian mood today.)

Caetano Veloso (A Little More Blue)

I was thinking the same thing. There was that ad for Diamonds not so long ago with her covering Cat Stevens.

That guitar looks like it was stolen from the set of some horrible 80s metal video shoot, and has just finally surfaced. Send it back I say, the 80s are over.

I'm sure that most here saw the cover and just assumed you'd posted it . NP: Various Artists - Tropicalia: Ou Panis Et Circensis

Gordon Lightfoot - United Artists Collection

Prince - The Beautiful Ones Paul Westerberg - Bastards of Young

I think Vic is great. I second the "West of Rome" nod, and will add "Drunk," "About to Choke," "Is the Actor Happy?"... honestly, it's easier to list the ones to avoid as that's a smaller pile .

The opening sketch and the News were the best parts... that seems to be the case for most episodes.

I saw a bunch of films at the Toronto Fest over the past few days. Here's my quick take on what I saw: The Wrestler - Darren Aronofsky - USA (9/10) - Mickey Rourke is riveting, giving the performance of his career as a past his prime wrestler trying to salvage his life. It will be a crime if he doesn't get an Oscar nomination for this. Sexykiller - Miguel Mart

I just hope the Green Party is allowed in the televised debates this time (even if they don't have a chance in hell of getting in.)

I really like this collection and have been spinning it a lot since I got it. There's some really great demos and unreleased tracks on here. Truly a must have for any Zevon fan like yourself.

John Phillips - John Phillips (John, The Wolfking of L.A.)

I've seen him live on various TV shows, and the guy never fails to amaze me with his incredible musicianship.
-
I didn't realize he was going to do a Zevon song, cool!
-
Agreed. He's one of my favorites. He was for a brief time lumped into the next Dylan category. I guess over time people sort of forgot about him.

Letterman interview in Rolling Stone...
GtrPlyr replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
That was probably the best hour of TV Letterman ever did. -
It's nice to finally have this on DVD. I saw it on TV many years ago, but never got to see the whole thing.
