I haven't listened to him in a few years but I remember liking quite a few songs from previous records. I will have to check it out.

That is fantastic Kalle. Very cool to be on a bill with the Cowboy Junkies. Thanks for the links, I will definitely check out your music.

Have these 2 going in a loop today:

I love that show. Looking forward to season 2 this Sunday .

Just picked up the reissue of this one on the weekend.

I wasn't directing that at you Solace. It wasn't a reaction to any one comment in particular, but rather a bunch I've read. Stop-gap was my word for the vibe I got reading some comments on various sites. Oh yeah, it's definitely an ADD record. I've said the same thing myself. I think a lot of people will have a hard time with this just because it breaks from what their ears are used to hearing. We've become accustom to hearing songs presented in a certain manner, and this freely breaks from that convention many times throughout the record. I think people that like more conventional rock/

I keep reading how people regard this as stop-gap until a "proper" release is issued. The idea that this isn't a proper release eludes me. Are only records with conventional song cycles considered a proper release? That seems like a very narrow definition to me. This is an unconventional, sprawling, messy, raucous, and wildly entertaining ride, sounds like a proper record to me. I'd rather listen to an artist like this, who follows their muse, and puts out challenging music, than some safe and boring song by numbers artist. I think it's a pretty cool artistic statement that Paul has made h

I probably listen to Anodyne the most.

Paul Westerberg - 49:00 First listen. Fans of Mono and Folker will like this one.

Some nice parts and arrangements there. I get a 70s vibe from some of the songs which I like. I like the slide guitar parts on the 2nd song, nice George Harrison sound on it. I like "Dropping My Plans" but I must admit it reminds me a lot of Tweedy's acoustic version of "Spiders (kidsmoke)," especially the vocal melody. The chorus reminds me of the pre-chorus of "Between Love and Like" by Paul Westerberg too. It might just be me though.

Yeah man, I dug the song and the atmosphere of the whole thing. Good production, and nice instrumentation choices too. I look forward to hearing more.

Over a grand? You obviously had some delusions that you were sitting on a real find, and that one of us Wilco fans would jump all over this with 4 figure offers. Reality check: Anyone here could probably get Glenn to sign a drumstick for them after a show if they really wanted it badly enough. The stick is a great memento for a fan but on a monetary level it can't be worth all that much. If it was from say Keith Moon it might be a different story.

Your Top 5 places to go/things to see

I agree about Kutna Hora. I don't think my girlfriend was as enthusiastic though. I once had a 7 hour layover in Amsterdam with a friend that hadn't been there before. We put our backpacks in a locker at the airport and took the train into town. I took her to the Rijksmseum, the Van Gogh Museum, some park by the Van Gogh were we rested for about 40 minutes, then the Anne Frank House and a cafe for a beer--not a smoke . We did it all by foot so you definitely can see a lot in a short period of time. I believe we also went through the red light district. -
Time for some Prine.

The new one is quite good and has had many spins over the past month. Definitely in my top 10 of the year so far.

Taking a break from the new one.

Walk along the river Seine and check out the sites along the way Sainte-Chapelle - (the stained glass is beautiful here) Musee de l'Orangerie - (if you like Monet this is a great place to check out) Musse d'Orsay & the Louvre (pretty obvious, but have to be mentioned) Panth -
I bought all the 1st round Mats reissues and will definitely be getting all these too. Also excited about new Westerberg songs, though at $0.49 I'm afraid it's only going to be MP3 for the time being . I guess I'll have to hope for a proper CD down the road.

Barenaked Ladies front man arrested on drug charges

I'm hoping it's Gore Vidal personally. Speaking of Steven Page, I used to date a girl that was friends with him and Ed Robertson. I never got to meet them, but they were sitting a few seats away from me at a Prince concert once. -
I've been listening to this a lot lately.
