  1. I never see them either. I would suggest switching from Rate Your Music to Amazon.com for album images as they seem to display on all browsers. NP again:
  2. Wow, that was fast. Thanks again Whitty .
  3. I too can relate to a lot of what you said there Kev. Especially the part about being reclusive and bad with keeping up with friends--sadly, some I haven't talked to in many many years. When I do see my friends it's great, and I always feel bad for letting so much time elapse between visits. Of course, my earnest intention to see them on a more regular basis usually fall by the wayside as I get distracted by my regular life routines. I used to see and talk to friends on a weekly basis when I was younger, not sure what happened along the way, but I slowly alienated a few. I can be outgoing at
  4. Hadn't listened to this recently as I was waiting for the CD. Now it's tiime to jump back in.
  5. This sounds really cool. It doesn't hurt that I like the bands name checked. Not sure if you want to send one of these up to Canada, but if you do I would gladly check it out. Either way, thanks for the generous offer Whitty.
  6. Me too. Probably seen it at least 10-15 times since I was a teen. I think I can still quote half the movie. It also has one of my favorite soundtracks ever.
  7. You can't go wrong with "Paul Simon" or " There Goes Rhymin' Simon."
  8. I always thought of Joel more as a good singles artist, which is probably why I only ever liked a few of his records all the way through. For me his greatest hits 1&2 were all I needed to satisfy my fix. Elton John on the other hand appealed to my musical senses a bit more, especially the 70s output which yielded a lot of great records. He sort of lost me in the 80s with slick pop songs such as I'm Still Standing and I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues--The songs were well crafted for sure, but they didn't do a thing for me. Nevertheless, he has a handful of records that still sta
  9. Original thread directive: Booker T and the MG's were an instrumental band . Love that song. I thought of mentioning it earlier but I consider Johnson more of an instrumentalist so I skipped it.
  10. Yep, that's the one . I relearned this one last night after finding a TAB online: Bron-yr-aur TAB
  11. Great choice of covers. I love that Handsome Family song. Very nice version too I might add. Nice one Froggie. I think I'm going to have to relearn that one. Page sure came up with some stunning chord progressions.
  12. Loudon Wainwright III - The Atlantic Recordings
  13. Nice choices. There was a time I could play bron-yr-aur on guitar. It's been so long now that I can't even remember what tuning it was in . Some great ones mentioned already. I'll add a few: The Allman Brothers - Jessica Funkadelic - Maggot Brain James Brown - Funky Drummer Santana - Samba Pa Ti There's a bunch by Jeff Beck but I consider him more of an instrumental artist than not.
  14. Nice! I like your song Golden Smoghead
  15. I'm digging this one more than the last 2 so far. p.s. Thanks for the Drake covers PAL .
  16. I was wondering why I didn't recognize the cover. Yep, pretty hard to top the originals.
  17. jimmyjimmy's post inspired me to put this one on.
  18. I've already commented on this record a few times here . It's one of my favorite reissues of the past year. Really great Country Rock 'n' Soul collection. Hard to find a bad song in the bunch.
