  1. Out of that list it's the Weakerthans for me. The Kathleen Edwards is pretty good too. I still haven't checked out the Basia record so I can't comment. There's been a lot of hype for her here in Canada, I really should check her out. I'm a bit surprised that Kevin Drew - Spirit If... didn't make the long list. I remember that came out about the same time the Stars record did.
  2. I've seen the other 2 parts of the Whit Stillman trilogy but never seen all of this one before.
  3. Sitting in a park watching squirrels, girls and life unfurl. Pools, lakes, rivers and beaches. Oh so relaxing and invigorating. Brandy Alexanders and Corona beer. Biking along the waterfront with a nice cool breeze. Sprawling out on a chaise-lounge under a tree in the backyard with a book.
  4. It takes about 5 minutes to configure, but once you do it EAC is the only program that will give you a true 1:1 copy of a CD. Nero doesn't take into account your drives offset value, so it is inferior in that regard. It's a good overall burning program, but for audio CDs--both ripping and burning--EAC is king .
  5. Just finished: NP: I watched the doc the other week and it sort of renewed my interest in his music over the past few weeks. Agree about Wildflower, one of his best for sure.
  6. I'm with Froggie, EAC is the way to go. It's probably the best CD copying program out there. It's the only one I use for both ripping and burning.
  7. Oh yeah! I love this band. I picked up "In the Air" years ago and fell in love with their twisted and often funny songs. I've since picked up 3 or 4 other records, each with their charms.
  8. Me too . NP: Moby Grape - Moby Grape
  9. One of those records I never tire of.
  10. Nice work anthonyc007. The chords vary slightly after the intro so I just tweaked your version a bit.

  12. Nice to see the Gordon Lightfoot love here Being Canadian I of course grew up with the mans music, hearing it on the radio, the parents turntable, and now my own turntable/CD player.
  13. The girlfriend got to pick the movie yesterday and was adamant in seeing "Wanted." She liked it, I thought it was barely passable and had nothing really special going for it. Part of the problem was the character voiceover, which sounded like it was ripped directly from Fight Club. It didn't help that the lead character starts off like Ed Norton in Fight Club all meek and whatnot. The action set pieces were Matrix meets John Woo--so over the top that you actually had to laugh. The characters were for the most part 1 dimensional. The lead actor did a pretty good job salvaging the film for a whi
  14. Decent enough blaxploitation flick. Fans of Star Trek will get a kick out of a bad-ass Lt. Uhuru (Nichelle Nichols) yelling at her ho's.
