  1. Do like i have done the last two years... spend three nights in Dallas and catch full sets of your favorite bands on their way down to ACL or just back from ACL in air conditioned venues without the massive crowds. Most acts will play full sets in Dallas for about $25 bucks a ticket. Last year i got the Ranconteurs, Flaming Lips, Aimee Mann and assorted other acts from the ACL that opened those shows; all in small venues. The venues were half full, as most music fans were three hours south for the weekend. Hotels were easy to find and much less than Austin rates for that weekend. dave
  2. This is the second tote bag that i know of... there was one released with the Wilco Book.
  3. A lot of lp's now are being offered with a digital download of the release. For instance, every vinyl release i have purchased from Merge records the past year have had a coupon within the packaging that had a one time only code and a url link to get your digital copy. I'm pretty sure this is what they mean by the bonus cd offer... even though it clearly says: As a bonus, each vinyl copy will also include a copy of the album on CD.
  4. Here is a scanned copy of the review. You may have to save it to your computer and open it in photo shop or a similar program to enlarge it enough to read. No word on how the tape comparison is coming. Stay tuned. part 2 to come as soon as i can get it down to size....
  5. i'm not sure if it's on news stand shelfs now, i subscribe and just got it in the mail Monday. It has a nice live shot of Jeff at the gig too. If i get some time today i'll either type it out or better yet i'll scan the page and post it as a jpeg.
  6. Has the vinyl already sold out on Merge? It only list the cd. After research, the vinly was released as 2, 7" disc. I can only find UK sellers. Does anyone know the number of vinyl copies printed? thanks for any info. dave
  7. Jeff got a outstanding review for the Marfa gig in this months No Depression Magazine. I'm not gonna type it all out and i can't find a link (everyone on this board should support this magazine anyway). This is how it starts: Think of Jeff Tweedy. Now think of how the edge of the earth might look: A vast ocean of grass and sky, maybe some ragged mountains in the distance. Now think of Jeff Tweedy playing a solo show there. That's just what happened on this night, when Tweedy's calendar of solo dates at big-city venues took a hiccup and landed the Wilco frontman in Marfa, Texas (pop. 2
  8. The show is being evaluated by the tapers to determine the best quality source. With multiple sources there is no need to waste time releasing a inferior recording. You'll be happy in the end. "time was just a joke"
  9. sorry, one more thing... I also edited out all the dead air and between song banter, so i have two versions of this show. One complete and unedited, and one with the songs only and applause fade out at the end. I did this because my wife really only cares about the music so when she's driving and listening she will hear it like a album. There is a little over 12 minuets between the two versions, so as you see there is a lot of dead air. The boys didn't say much. i can load both to the tracker if there is a interest. Otherwise it will be the unedited version only.
  10. i can add this to the dime tracker tomorrow if some of you are members and would like a copy. i tried to figure out etree today with the Dallas Tweedy gig but failed. if anyone has that show please up it there. some people can't access the Dime torrents.
  11. I thought they nailed every song they played in the set, but yes those two tracks stand out for me. Not a bad way to start a show and end it. I Really enjoyed "The World" too.
  12. what's that from? is it a cover? Thanks for the help and the complement on the recording. I was pleased. It made my drive home go quickly. Here is the set list and specs of the recording. dave The Autumn Defense February 11, 2007 Dallas, Texas- Gypsy Tea Room DFC>15' FS>Audix1290>ps2>mt24/96@44.1/24>audacity.wav a "time was just a joke" production Guitar & Vocals- John Stirratt Guitar,Keys & Vocal- Pat Sansone Key's and Guitar- Mike Cruz Drums & Backing Vocals - Greg Wizz Bass- James Haggardy (71:32) 01. 13. Trying to fill in the set list, here is a sample of my recording. if someone can listen and give me the title it would be appreciated. My guess is this song is "This Will Fall Away" but there is another track later in the set that has the lyric Fall Away too so i have to narrow it down. It's in WAV so it may take a few minuets to down load http://www.sendspace.com/file/tx4tvw
  14. I was one of the 46 people; that i counted including staff. You didn't see the taper because i didn't have time to set up my stand. i had a 95 mile drive and i could not leave home until 8pm. And I'm glad i didn't set up that stand because of the shaky floor. But i will tell you this... this recording is pure gold! i was DFC standing alone in a room with the some of the most respectful, quite music lovers i have had the pleasure of watching a show with. Most people even gently disposed of their beer bottles so as to not make noise. i'll get a set list ASAP i'm tracking it now. I too go
  15. Who are the other members of the touring band? Also thanks for the Pictures. I'm looking forward to the show this evening. If i capture a nice tape it will be shared. dave
  16. thanks for the review and set list. I'm planning on taking in the Dallas gig this Sunday, are the Autumn Defense as taper friendly as Wilco? I was hoping to set up a stand if so. dave
  17. i would much rather the recording not be compressed and compromised using lossy formats. Please send me a pm and i'll give you a address for b&p and you can get the show the way it was captured. dave
  18. Cool! Thanks Radio King! Is that picture of Jeff from the Dallas gig? Also I like the layout and the font you chose. dave
  19. Via Chicago members losing faith in a known taped show after only two weeks? Wow i thought Wilco played to a bit more optimistic fan base than that. "Radio Cure" is the only hopeless track i can think of right now the band even sings. dude listen to Hummingbird a few more times it might help...
  20. ...try try again http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=133414 I promise there is another seed now!
  21. why is it easier for me to post torrents on via chaicago than the dime? anyone have a clue when we will see it's retun? i'll try again.
  22. If at first you don't succeed... http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=133406 enjoy! dave
  23. Thanks for the info i'll add your info on Joe to the notes and yes it will be reseeded. There was a f#@king space after the date in Scott's file is why it was banned! i guess i need to pay more attention when i load these things. sorry for those of you who tied up your computers on first attempt at this download. dave
  24. I finally got a chance to work on this. It's up on the dime enjoy! http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=133276
