Just make sure to avoid anyone driving a black Chevy Nova.

Published Wilco (the album) articles and reviews
tareth replied to Preferred B's topic in Just A Fan
I think this my favorite review. Thanks for that. -
I loved the show, and I loves me some Wilco.

iTunes actually does count your iPod listens- up until the last time you synced it, at least. I still love the album, and I think I've had every song on it stuck in my head at some point.

Anyone going to the Tahoe show?
tareth replied to kencoomerislockedinmybasement's topic in Just A Fan
All the tickets were GA. I'll be there. Can't wait! -
There are times where the only course of action is a ninja edit. After listening to the stream, I am confident that W(TA) will indeed be placed at the end of the ranking list. And I know this is off topic, but I'm completely loving the album [should that be (the album)?]. Can't wait to hear these songs live.

I don't ever post here, but I do feel that, over my time spent reading this forum, I have gained at least SOME insight into the intricacies of Wilco Chronology. That said, I hope I am not too far off in believing that the correct order should be: A.M. BT ST YHF AGIB SBS I will reserve my opinion of W(TA) until after it has been released. It would not surprise me, however, given the typical flow of time, if the new album shows up last in this list. I guess we'll find out soon!

Downloaded this show, and listening to it now... I think this is one of my favorite Impossible Germany solos. Out of all the ones I've heard, at least.

My parents both love Via Chicago because of that, although they had to experience it in person first. Still have a few hours before it starts here...can't wait!

O Valencia!, and We Both Go Down Together by The Decemberists both have images in them that are very similar to Romeo and Juliet.

After repeated listens of In Rainbows, I can say with great conviction that my ranking of Radiohead's albums in the chronological order of their releases is as follows: 1st. Pablo Honey 2nd. The Bends 3rd. OK Computer 4th. Kid A 5th. Amnesiac 6th. Hail to the Thief 7th. In Rainbows

I heard Walken at a casino while I was at Lake Tahoe with my family a few months ago. I was compelled to spontaneously sing along.

I love how In Rainbows dominates the top ten tracks at last.fm. In the correct play order as well. Not that this should be a surprise, or anything, but it still looks cool. http://www.last.fm/music/+charts/track/

Sounds good, but how 'bout some of those AM tunes?

I'd like to see this, too. For some reason I can't get the Berkeley stream to work. The Edmonton one works perfectly--not really sure what the problem is. If they really are streaming it uncompressed, then that could be the reason. I'd really like to get a copy, especially since it was my first Wilco show, and the AUD recording I have brings back the one negative memory I associate with the show--the talking.

This is probably very true if you have a short attention span. I love both albums, personally.

Would everyone want Wilco to release more live albums?
tareth replied to justincolts's topic in Just A Fan
I think a live DVD would be better at this point. But I wouldn't say no to another live album either. -
I wonder how Wilco would sound if their next record had no guitars...
tareth replied to magusmachine's topic in Just A Fan
Didn't Jeff mention getting a hammered dulcimer while he was in Germany in an interview a month or two ago? That would be interesting to hear on a Wilco record. -
Just keep trying at dime--they're constantly removing members, so eventually you'll make it through. If not, just be patient. It'll turn up eventually.

It's entirely possible that whoever shouted 42 was just guessing and had been reading a little too much Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I promised myself that I'd count if they did Misunderstood, but, when it came down to it, I guess I was too into it to remember.

All I have to say about this show is, "I loves me some Wilco."
-
It doesn't bother me in the least that he doesn't like Impossible Germany. I happen to love it, but whatever--we all listen to things differently. I just think the point he made about Nels Cline's influence on A Ghost is Born is hilarious.

I mostly used that as an example since a lot of the complaint's I've heard about the album seem to try to compare Start of Something with it. I mean, I love the song, but if every song of theirs sounded like it... I think there would be even more complaints.

I loved this album on my first listen. Not as much as the EPs, though. My next few listens put it right up with the EPs. And from there, I don't really care to compare them any further than that. I must be some sort of weirdo, though, because I think this is one of my favorite albums of the year so far. Maybe it's because, walking in to this album, I didn't really have any sort of expectations, which I think is the best way to approach something new. If I had been expecting more songs like "The Start of Something" or "Trouble" I would have been really disappointed. But I really do love it. /sh
