  1. It's a must have, drew-ski... it's one of their mini-cakes. You'll look at it and swear you'll have it finished in 5 minutes, but I guarantee, you'll eat maybe a bit more than half and save the rest for later, it's THAT rich.
  2. Just north of Schoharie on the soutbound side of Route 30... they also grow some amazing perennials there. I think it's now called Schoharie Valley Farms, but it used to be owned by the Westheimer family (Dr. Ruth's relatives). It's right near the George Mann Tory Tavern (which is one of the best dinners I've ever had in my life... prix fixe 5-course dinner for $35, and every course KICKS). http://www.schoharievalleyfarms.com/
  3. Carrot Cake, if it's from Westheimer's Carrot Barn, Schoharie, NY ... Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, if it's from Mrs. K's Kitchen, Middleburgh, NY ... Chocolate Oreo Eclair, if it's from Mendoker's Bakery, Jamesburg, NJ ... just about any cupcake from Magnolia Bakery, NY, NY
  4. Thank goodness they were on top of things.
  5. I'm an Arsenal fella myself... Eduardo's injury was as painful to watch as Theisman's was in the NFL some 25 years ago
  6. Trish!!! I totally forgot about "the new Jan Brady"... Maudie, I think your hair trumps that look tenfold!
  7. oh my GOD that is the best... for someone who didn't get to listen to Cope in action all that much having never lived in Pittsburgh, this is positively priceless.
  8. I figured you put something somewhere well before I did, sorry I missed it... thought of you the second I heard the news.
  9. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AoDV...p&type=lgns Voice of the Pittsburgh Steelers for 35 years inventor of the terrible towel A Pittsburgh legend Yoi! Double Yoi! Rest in peace, sir! Give Mike Webster a hug for us.
  10. Gitcha Scorecard, here... gitcha Programs, here... ah, the periphery of baseball. Nothing like it. So glad it's here.
  11. It sounds as though Nana is one of the rare individuals who left the world far better than she found it. May she rest in peace, and may you keep her alive in your words and memories as long as you live, Chris.
  12. That was Heartfulofholes... FrOnk and I were also at the Loose Fur shows, along with the Legendary James P. Walsh, who has never owned a computer, let alone joined a message board. I think we were too shy to say hello to you guys, and then we went and got drunk on Staten Island.
  13. I think, Maudie, that the creme-de-la-creme of stardom are attracted to you! You could've saved yourself all the trouble and just had your photo taken with Rita Moreno or Mel Brooks! Or how about Rita AND Mel! Try getting THEM in the same room together... good luck.
  14. We had stayed up at the Acreage the night before (thinking it was somewhat closer to Poughkeepsie, boy were we off)... Patti baked brownies and cookies, and we brought 'em along. That was fun.
  15. if i remember correctly, there was such a squeal from the audience (or a very specific portion of the audience anyways) when he mentioned the hoT roadies... such excitement at the moment of realization that the band actually read stuff that we were writing!
  16. If you check out the Bluegrass and Tootsie's, pop into Roberts Western World for a spell too... just as raucous.
  17. I personally would love to see Jeff or someone in the band wear a big top hat like Daniel Day Lewis did in "Gangs of New York". Then the appearance would KILL.
  18. Yep! What a great time up there. I so clearly remember FrOnk's exchange with the security guy... Security Guy: "No knives allowed in the venue... do you have any knives on you, sir?" FrOnk: "No." *guy frisks FrOnk* Security Guy: "Well, what's this?" FrOnk. "A knife."
  19. The one place we didn't get to hit that we wanted to last time we were in Nashville was the Loveless Cafe... ooh, I'm DYING for some biscuits!!! http://www.lovelesscafe.com/ edit: oh shoot, Monell's Dining & Catering was FANTASTIC. Family-style southern soul food, and considering the wonderful decor, it was DIRT CHEAP!!!!! We got to take Josh out for dinner as thanks for showing us his town (oh yeah we took him to see Patty Griffin at the Ryman too).
  20. Yeah, Brian's great. Haven't seen him since I did some shows up in Cape Cod waaaaay back when.
