  1. Enjoy it, Christy! Make sure she enjoys it, Jay!
  2. I would never, EVER insult the gallant body of work that Clint Howard has amassed. Frankly, he would've made a more believable Richie Cunningham than his brother. We might've seen a bit more of the seedy, drug-infested underbelly of 1950s Milwaukee, plus a bit more of Fonzie's fearsome hoodlum side had Clint ran with that role. I won't tell Craig what you said Maudie... his head is big enough.
  3. He had mentioned in an interview recently that he had been taking Ambien to help him sleep while shooting the batman film, according to CNN Headline News.
  4. I think he'd have a good laugh about it, Paul, he's met more than a few people from the board at shows, that's for certain... I can see a bit of the resemblance that Jeff is talking about in that specific pic, but Craig looks much more like that actor Ryan Reynolds from the movie Van Wilder in real life, at least that's what people say.
  5. CNN is reporting that he was found dead in his NYC apartment? 28 or 29 years old??? Gosh
  6. hee hee, I like the "rhythm y blues" too. Yeah, Yvon, that's part of what makes it such riduculous fun for me... using the same heads, and making them just-slightly-larger-enough-to-look-weird compared to the heads they're replacing. Other folks seem to dig it too. Maybe, in celebration of card #10, we'll switch to newer pics, and even add Chuck Hancock, our ace sax player. Best part is that we started playing our favorite songs as a total lark... one of the NYC venue owners needed someone to fill 3 hours when a performer cancelled, Craig and I were hanging there, so we said, "Yeah, we can p
  7. Card #6 seems to be the most popular of the bunch, but in real life, Craig could never get the ball past me like that: Card #7... back to outer space Now you've seen 'em all, Yvon!
  8. We've had seven other ones, Yvon... here's the original one (nothing to write home about, but people ask us for this one all the time now. Ain't no more to be had): Here's card #2... I remember Craig saying, "Holy shit, we're going in this direction with these now, are we?" But really, when you don't take anything in your life seriously, why take a glorified business card seriously? We went all espa
  9. *whew*, thank the gods for this windfall... I'm gonna re-hire my chauffer
  10. I used to think very little of it, but now that my 10-year-old (he'll kick my ass if he knew I didn't say 10-and-a-half-year-old) nephew has started learning to play some of the riffs he's been emulating on a real live guitar, I think it's good. He got a bit of a headstart on the ideas of timing and phrasing... and he's checking out some bands he would never, ever have simply sat down to listen to at his age. He's very frustrated by the pains on his fingertips and at the bottom of his thumb, but he wants to work past them and improve. I glow with pride when I listen to his choppy innocent vers
  11. Weird Fishes has grown on me to the point where it might be my favorite Radiohead song of all. Also, Thom and Ed took over Annie Nightengale's show on BBC Radio 1 on Jan 17... you can hear the entire show from a link on this page
  12. These are the cards we dole out at our shows... we do a different design every thousand. We've been mexican wrestlers, acrobats, garden gnomes, invaders of mars, Primera Liga futbol players, astronauts... This is action card #8. it's so ridiculous and stupid that I had to put it up here, knowing how ridiculous and stupid we all are.
  13. I think he's worth the risk. Also, Carlos Pe
  14. Yeah, Drew, Eddie told me that's the cover version of it that he loves most.
  15. perhaps a clean boost pedal like BBE's Boosta Grande: linky dinky
  16. I was definitely thinking the same thing... but I Am Shelby Lynne is one of my absolute favorite albums, so... ... new one sounds great, all Dusty Springfield covers. Shelby could sing the phone book to me and I'd melt.
  17. The sad sidebar to that story is the fact that the Puerto Rican Winter League is no more as of this year. It was shut down due to a lack of interest and attendance. Eduardo Perez started his Winter Training Program as a result, to give Puerto Rican players an opportunity to play during the winter, despite the absence of the League. It's sad really, because the League had been around since before the 1940s.
  18. People who love to hear themselves talk are just so much fun to listen to!
  19. I got all sorts of crap... Main acoustic: Breedlove Main electric: a custom Fender Telecaster with two humbuckers and a coil splitter add'l guitars: Fender Jaguar, Gretsch 6120, Fender Tele Thinline, Fender Tele w/humbucker in neck position, Fender Nashville Tele, regular ol' Fender Tele, Fender Stratocaster, ESP strat-style with 2 single coil EMGs and an EMG humbucker in the bridge (had it custom made back when I had an endorsement with them), 2 Gretsch Jumbo Acoustics, 1929 Martin Acoustic, 1 Gretsch mini Acoustic with cowgirl graphics on it, Yamaha Dreadnought Acoustic, Danelectro U2, Fen
  20. It was a fun listen, but "What's Going On" has it beat by a whisker in my book.
  21. Yes, thank you so much for sharing the information. It certainly provides a bit of relief to know that Nat went peacefully... one can only wish that for everybody.
  22. Oh Danny Boy! I love you so! Happy Birthday, skinny!
  23. Lucky enough to have played one of them (it had a couple of bee stickers on the scratchplates [which are decals, not actual plastic by the way]), and the neck is very bulky on them, not as tough as, say, a classical nylon-string, but you definitely notice the difference after a few songs.
