Jen, Patti and I howl with laughter every time we see that one. Agador... Spartacus. There are scenes in "The Man Who Knew Too Little" that I need to wear a diaper in order to watch. F'ing hysterical.

They were able to get rid of the albatross that is Mota (as well as his $3mil+ salary), and Estrada's stats are comparable to LoDuca's, for a couple million less. Yeah, 87% of baserunners stole successfully on him, but LoDuca wasn't a heck of a lot better. He's 3 years younger. And he's a switch-hitter. I'll take it.

Hellz yeah!

Grand riddance to Mota... I didn't think they'd be able to get more than a bucket of batting-practice balls for him.

THANK YOU MAUDIE for starting this thread!!!! xoxo My heart feels so enriched just by reading what folks have written, and seeing photos that folks have posted. In no particular order, I am thankful: -

If it happens, your Sox will have gotten a hell of a lot better on defense in the past few days, Graham... not to mention some clutch hitting!

wow, some hefty activity today. Glad that Lowell gets to bask in the afterglow of a world championship for a few years. Always hated when players leave their team right after winning a WS. Does this open a full-time spot at SS for super-sub Macier Izturis in Anaheim?

Aww, Wendy, it was so fantastic... what joy coming from that stage. The place went nuclear, Heidi! One of the loudest noises I've ever heard.

Just make sure your drummer either has visual contact with the flashing tempo light or can clearly hear the loop... nothing worse than drifting from a looped rhythm and trying to find your way back.

Matt, I do about 4-5 shows per week in Manhattan as an acoustic/percussion duo, doing mostly old rhythm-and-blues... we get a lot of mileage out of the limited instrumentation (the plus being that with one melodic instrument, you can go just about anywhere on a dime, the minus being the missing extra-low end). My only suggestion is to simplify the chords you play down to 3 notes or so, with at least one string's distance between the bass note and the other notes that comprise the chord. This seems (to me anyway) to let the bass frequency breathe a bit more, and be a bit more present. Then you

The greatest concert I will ever see, what an honor to have been there. He played "For Once In My Life" in the old Motown style, then did it again in a mellower style, joined on stage by Tony Bennett. Later on, fucking PRINCE comes out and plays guitar on "Superstition"... Stevie's voice sounded exuberant, joyous, the most amazing instrument... his harmonica playing was spot-on, a virtuoso... his band was top-notch as always, the great Nathan Watts anchoring the whole thing with his magnificent bass playing... Keith John (Little Willie John's son) was one of the backing vocalists, as was

That's why I love you so.

I play a Breedlove, but nothing near as muy caro as that... mighty pretty guitar, though.
