Oh, this is such sad news.

Often you'll see a pitcher who is working on a no-hitter do his best to conceal his emotions. Fun to see Zambrano callling off the catcher and first-baseman on a foul pop-up, catching the ball and pumping his fists, and then to see him bounce the 2-2 pitch with 2 out in the 9th... he's always worn his emotions on his sleeve, and this was no exception. He's got such great stuff; I'm surprised that he hasn't pitched a no-no before this.

What's the price of gas where you are?
Twisted Acres replied to Twisted Acres's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
$3.19 in central NJ (east brunswick)... total republican ploy, but my light wallet is a bit less light. My wife and I have been commenting to each other about how we both saw the $3.19 sign separately, and how we both had the thought, "wow, what a bargain," and then immediately came to our senses. -
Absolutely... it's quite remarkable.

Carry us home, Boricua! I cannot BELIEVE what a tear this man is on.

The bass player in my band also plays with Ingrid Michaelson, and I'm jumping out of my skin because they are playing at Madison Square Garden tonight, opening for The Dave Matthews Band. They opened for him on several dates this summer in the midwest, but it's just beyond fucking exciting to know that someone you're very close to and care very deeply about is playing at Madison Fucking Square Fucking Garden. Madison Square Garden. I'm just jumping out of my skin over this, and I felt that the only way I can get it off my chest and get to sleep tonight was to share it... ROCK that stage

That was the very first thing I thought, Dan... [wishful thinking monologue]Wonder if he might be back a tad early, that'd be nice for the stretch run, having Wagner set up K-Rod [/wishful thinking monologue]

Speaking of MVPs, I NEVER thought at the beginning of the season that I'd be thinking of Carlos Delgado as the MVP of the Mets to this point.

Jeff Tweedy Signature Model Guitar from Breedlove
Twisted Acres replied to Mick S's topic in Just A Fan
Do love them Breedloves... I've got two, and they're workhorses. -
On the advice of a friend, I've started using Monster guitar cables, available at (gasp) guitar center... they have a lifetime warranty and accept the exchange no questions asked, even a few years on... it works out great, especially when playing in another city and a cable starts to act up. Poof! Return it!

Cheers and thanks, sir. Hope you have a nice relaxing day.

I freakin' LOVE Barrytown, and I think I owe my love of "Time Out of Mind" to my Uncle Michael. Also, the intro to "FM" is so fantastic.
