  1. I'm still at the point with In Rainbows that I need to re-start it as soon as it ends, much like it was for me back in '02 with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. It's exquisite.
  2. Ain't seen Brian (legalsandwich) in a long time, but I'm pretty sure that's Jen's all-time favorite VC handle, and he's a great guy with a great band to boot... happy birthday wherever you may be, Bri! And Trish too??? :smooches :birthdayhugs
  3. Top birthday wishes to you, Mr. B... may every rare 12" and 78 you ever wanted find its way to you today! All the best!
  4. O my God, Kate... my prayers are with you, Em, Graham, and your family.
  5. Cliff Lee is unreal at the moment. Pitching with purpose. And this Mets fan thinks that Wright and Reyes look like total dimwits in that fashion photo. Oh, and the fans can kiss Delgado's ass... just because they want a curtain call doesn't mean they're gonna get it.
  6. Praying for your family and sending you huge hugs, Dunja.
  7. Speaking of hideous NBA unis, the NJ Nets tie-dye jobs from the early 90s were positively atrocious.
  8. they are quite nice, aren't they? I know that they'd probably refrain from using orange/blue (since a division rival is using the combination), but if they went with orange and perhaps the current teal, using the vintage typography/logos, it'd be pretty damn cool.
  9. would looooove to see the Marlins go truly retro and pay homage to the old Miami Marlins minor-league teams: And as a side note, if any (any!!!) team went with grey heather for their road greys, I'd be in true awe.
  10. god bless him, his dexterity on his left hand is fabulous!
  11. Agreed. That was one of the things I really really dug about the Civil Rights Game... seeing the Mets in cream-colored home unis (even though the typeface for "NEW YORK" was lame).
  12. Consider it DONE. Call me and I'll play it for you right now over the phone!!!
  13. Don't really have any recordings of that stuff, but next time you're in NYC, bring a tape recorder to one of our shows (we do 4 or 5 a week at this point) and it's all yours. We've got a trio of myself on vocals and acoustic, Craig Meyer on percussion (djembe, small trap kit), and Chuck Hancock on saxophone. We do primarily vintage soul and r&b, but anything goes... you can see our schedule at martinandcraig.com
  14. Some nice angles for sure, but I felt that the behind-home-plate camera that shows most of the action was a tiny bit too high up for my taste. It feels more like I'm watching a video game than a baseball game.
  15. So true, I get nearly 4mpg better driving 65mph as opposed to 75mph
  16. I freelance from my home office, but gigs in Manhattan 5 nights/week put about 400 miles/week on the car.
  17. I have found these to be the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn: http://www.keenfootwear.com/ I have a slightly wide foot, and these are the only shoes I've tried that do not have my feet feeling worn out by the end of a long day's walkin'.
  18. http://www.buildyourownclone.com one of these days I'll sequester myself with a soldering iron and make a couple of these beauties. My pal has done a couple and swears by them.
  19. just discussed it with Patti and we're going next year. Come on down, Louie!!!! by the way, sam & sooz have the cd you lent me, thanx so much
