yeah it was definitely warm last year, and there is little to no shade in those tent "parking lots". After a long day outside in the sun it was really nice to be back in our A/C hotel room. Got another email from Porches. The Staff of Mass Moca/SS stay at the Proches which is what causes the rooms to be booked in advance.

Agreed. Someone (not me Im lazy) should start an official Solid Sound 2015 thread

I've heard night 1 and night 2 so far, and night 2 you can hear his voice really straining. It actually sounds painful. That being said, his vocals still hold up most of the time. And the banter is really good. The Seattle show is probably a better show if you only want 1 show, as it has a great tracklist and sounds really great.

Well Everyone I have tried has told me that they are not booking yet. I found an awesome House for rent and when I checked availability Solid Sound was already booked. I've sent emails and left messages, and have gotten no where, so I am giving up for now. Hopefully when we get closer to June more hotels will start to open up. Last year we found a pretty decent place only a few months before the event, so I think I should be OK if I start around June.

Tweedy Nominated for Producer of the Year Grammy
rhino4evr replied to Head in a Guillotine's topic in Just A Fan
I didn't even watch them. I guess I'm kinda glad that Daft Punk won, just because that album isn't your typical "pop" album. Was hoping Vampire Weekend would have been nominated for album of the year, but I guess they will have to be satisfied with their Alternative Album of the year grammy. -
got an email from Porches, their line is that they are already completely booked for Solid Sound. However I think that they are probably reserving spaces for the band and other VIP people.

Tweedy Nominated for Producer of the Year Grammy
rhino4evr replied to Head in a Guillotine's topic in Just A Fan
Both Cass McCombs and Andrew Bird are well known to be rather introverted. I just don't see either of them having any interest on someone else's guidance. Also, Tweedy didn't win, which was to be expected really. Compared to the other producers on that list, he's small potatoes. -
Is it possible that the Wilco the album songs can only be sold under the name Wilco, and not Jeff Tweedy for some reason? It sounds like including these songs would result in Jeff playing royalties on his own songs. Which I'm sure isn't something he is too excited about. No wonder they formed their own label. To be honest I don't think we are missing much. All those wilco the album tracks are pretty weak in my opinion. I guess it would be interesting to hear BBN acoustic though. I listened to the Seattle show and it sounds great. Love the John Lennon cover.

Is there a good website to look up weekend house rentals in the area?

Do you think Outkast with headline?

yeah, we will be doing a 4 night stay this year most likely. I reached out to a few places, hopefully I will get a call back. Staying South of North Adams worked well last year as we never really had any festival traffic. We were able to find a spot to park all three days without too much hassle as well.

Hmm...I spoke to someone over there (sounded British), and he said he could not make any reservations until June, as they don't book over a year in advance. Oh well, Im sure I will be able to find something easier this year as I will be planning for it, unlke last year when I waitied until April to find something. Altough I'd stay there again.

May I ask where? I called Porches and they said that someone would get back to me. Sounded like only VIPs will be able to stay there. Holiday Inn told me that they could not book this far in advance. Last year we stayed at a small bed and breakfast in Adams. It was ok, but I think we could do a little better this year with more planning. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hey, does anyone know if any of the hotels or inns will book this far ahead of schedule? I really want to get into a hotel that is walking distance to the fest this year.

I wasn't expecting one next year..i thought I read that SS would be an "every other year" event from now on. As for July 4th weekend...good thing is that I wouldnt need to take as much time off work, bad thing is that travel and lodging expenses will most likely double.

Via Chicago is definitely my favorite Live Wilco song...I say "WOW" everytime.

LOL..so I just read through the Epic Living Room show thread from 2009..wow this is really a heated subject. Please understand, I am not trying to start any fights by posting questions in regards to finding these. ha ha. The internet is so serious some times.

I know that these shows are not availble legally, but are there any particular shows that I should be on the look out for? I would assume the majority of them were never recorded, or at least leaked on the net.
-
yeah..I did some more research, the audience members/auction winners actually played as Tweedy's back up band? That's even more amazing. Going to try and find some more of these shows...
-
so I was searching around net and I found a Living room show from January 2008. I was under the impression that these were all acoustic/solo affairs, however there seems to be a backing band on this recording..does anyone know who they were? It's definitly not Nels. The show is amazing by the way. I too wish more of these shows were available for purchase, as I think it would further fund the charity, but I find it awesome that Jeff does this in the first place. So jealous of the folks here that have gotten to experience this.

Ok fine, then play another song off of YHF. I wonder where candy floss came from. If I had known they weren't going to play a single track from AGIB I would have requested Spiders

I wanted to add that the "randomizer" on Wilco's Firday night show seemed completely staged as well...Yo La Tengo just happens to be hanging out? The only part of the show that felt random is when they picked three people from the crowd (why couldnt these people have been the contest winners?) Although Daft Punk seemed to be awfully well rehearsed as well. It's not a big deal, but if you are going to promote a show like this, then stay true to your word, don't try and "fabricate" your promises.
-
kinda lame that they told the contest winner that her pick was "not good enough", I mean she WON the contest and then won by chance out of 5 people to request a song, doesn't she have the right to request the song she wanted? Instead she was booed on stage..when she didn't know the right album that the song she didn't even want to request was on. I just think that's poor planning from Wilco's management. If she wanted them to play Jesus Etc...then they should have played it. It's even a little more upsetting considering they only played 1 or 2 songs from Yankee Hotel in the first place..so t

WEll if you got the first night of solid sound, I would recommend you pick up the second night as well. Kind of completets the package. It's a also a great set filled with lots of older / rarer live performances. Are there any Roadcase shows with unusual covers or on stage collaborations? I'm curious myself.

I don't want to "control" Jeff, I just want him to play music that I like.
