  1. If all concerts took place on weekends and were over by 1:00 p.m., I would be so happy. A really fun morning/afternoon - and now I'm certain "Wilco the Song" will be going through my head for the next week. I've already voted, but I'm more eager than ever for Tuesday to come.

    Woah!

That was my request. Such a fun weekend.
  3. That's like most of the races here, except Democratic. I voted Monday when I got home from CA. I was the second of two people in line at city hall. I live in a small town outside Madison, so it wasn't too surprising. But it was nice.
  4. Yes! I think it was from the ferry. I'll bet the weather is nice down there right now. Sigh.
  5. Yep. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=37434
  6. This would be an awesome time for people to practice their Googling skills.
  7. Well, there was an article in the Cap Times today that quotes Governor Doyle as saying Obama is unlikely to be in Wisconsin before the election.
  8. It was really great. I'm not going to make it to any of the "proper" Neil shows with Wilco opening, so I was very glad I had the chance to attend the Bridge School shows. I took some not so great pictures on Sunday - my camera's zoom doesn't hold up under close scrutiny. But here's one: Paul has some super shots, which he will hopefully get uploaded soon.
  9. Another excellent day at the Shoreline. Our view from the middle of Section 102 was worlds better than the back of 202. Wilco didn't repeat any songs from Saturday. Their set: Remember the Mountain Bed new song (yet another one I'd never heard before) What Light Heavy Metal Drummer Christ for President (Glenn playing an actual stop sign from Sunnyvale) I'm the Man Who Loves You (dedicated to Susan) I Shall Be Released (with Pegi and Neil Young) Neil played with almost everyone today. Only Death Cab didn't have any guests in their set - Smashing Pumpkins brought up Josh Groban for "Dis
  10. Because otherwise, he would definitely be hanging out in Milwaukee. I was sorry to miss this show. I haven't seen Gary play in too long, and it looks like a really nice set. Did he take some setlist inspiration from the weather?
  11. Neil (2 songs) Band of Horses Cat Power Death Cab Wilco Sarah McLachlan Norah Jones Jack Johnson (a.k.a "dinner time" ) Neil (with ensemble for the final song)
  12. It was such a fun day! It felt super long, though. The new Wilco song was one I'd never heard before. (Of course, I haven't heard anything Jeff played solo in Spain.) My first time seeing Neil, and it was great. I loved his songs, but I thought "A Day in the Life" was fantastic as well. Tomorrow we're in the 100 section rather than the 200 section, so hopefully I'll be able to see a little more without the aid of the big screens.
  13. Happy birthday! May I suggest some gooey butter cake?
  14. Two tickets in section 204, Row H, right side of the section. PM me if you're interested.
  15. Sam and Kris and I caught that combo when we saw Conan in Chicago in April (May?) of 07. Plus George Wendt! At the time it was just really good timing for a work comp day.
  16. Happy birthday! Go have a pint at Mac's.
  17. Non-televised home run for Tampa Bay. Hilarious.
  18. Sounds like fun! I was sorry to miss them in WI. Oh, and Nels wrote liner notes for "Apple O." I think it's safe to say he's a big fan.
  19. I scored a 78. As you can see from the graph of the past year, I don't listen to most of my music on the computer. There are gaps, but it's still pretty cool:
