They are nice. However, it's the overindulgent guitar solos that make this album an instant classic in my book.

I grabbed it over on eMusic.

A lot of heresay and unconfirmed bullshit in there. As a Stones fan, it was still an enjoyable read.

I always thought Mark and Gary listened to a lot of Ragged Glory before they headed into the studio to record Hollywood Town Hall.

I read that this summer. I just finished I'll Sleep When I'm Dead written by Warren Zevon's ex Crystal. Disturbing stuff. I've found myself going back and reading pieces of Neil's book Shakey. I read it cover to cover 5 years or so ago, but it is such a dense read @ about 750 pages or so. I love reading the parts about the recording of the albums.

My ears hear a little more pop sheen on Rhett's solo ventures. Also, really bad album covers.

I was there. He certainly didn't see me. Unless he was using high-powered binoculars.

The Black Keys - Attack & Release

Man this album is fucking good. I've spun it 4 times in the last 24 hours. "Things Ain't Like They Used to Be" is killer. "I Got Mine" rocks very hard. "Strange Times" has very cruchy guitars as has a bit of a Radiohead feel to it. I LOVE the bass and banjo in "Lies." Great key playing on "All You Ever Wanted." The production on this album is perfect. A few Keys fans I've talked to were very concerned about them losing their "garage sound" with Danger Mouse on board. I think they maintain it well and take their sound to another level.
