actually, my main gripe is that he harps on other people for not using the search function that is completely gimp. You can't even include 3 letter words...so, hypothetically, if you wanted to search for the I'm the Man Who Loves You tab, the only word you can search with is "Loves". So I just find it obnoxious that he tell somone to post this in an old thread, where, if I'm sure you searched, you wouldn't find it anyways, because you can't even include the word DVD in the search. It just seems rude and unnecesary.

happy belated birthday, may you grow your beard in celebration!

understandable. I thought the arch was similar of the profile, but they're too old to really play as him. Pat's gotta be the second youngest member, right?

honestly, I saw IaTtBYH and thought Michael Ian Black was the drummer for the first half. Or browsing the Wilco catalogue on iTunes I noticed that Jeff in that specific picture looks like him, too. also, I always thought Pat looked most like one of the Gallaghers. edit: for instance:
-
Jeff said something about the irony "of a rock ('n'roll) group named after a phrase that was complacent"
-
Michael Ian Black even sounds a little bit like Glenn:

Has Jeff ever talked about Elliott Smith in interviews etc

OK, just for the record: Jim Morrison was not a genius or a good lyricist. He was a rambling drunken asshole who became convinced through positive reinforcement he was an enlightened philosopher and a revolutionary artist. He was, in fact, quite the opposite. I hate seeing talent like Jimi Hendrix lumped in with Jim Morrison. Jimi Hendrix taught people new ways of looking at the guitar and was legitimately interested in a process of exploration within himself. Jim Morrison was just some moderately good looking guy who thought he was hot shit. It doesn't matter what kind of drugs that guy -

wow, somone's guitar was incredibly out of tune on Late Greats.
-
oh, wow, holy crap, I've never heard this version of Radio Cure. It's like I'm The Man Who Loves You part 2 or something.
-
ahh, OK, that explains it. I thought Wilco had a song called "Let Me Come Home" and I thought this was something different. thanks.
-
yes! that one. but I can't find it anywhere. I looked for the album on iTunes and Soulseek, but they're not there, as well as looking for the song.

what song is this?? I heard it mentioned somewhere, but I can't find it anywhere. I tried searching the forums, but the search function is lame...anyone know if it's been played live or where I could find it?

personally, I thought Modern Times was the unlistenable ramblings of a senile old man whose writing was like an echo, trying to sound relevent. Even the album title "Modern Times" sounds plain trite [yes, I know where it came from]. Rolling Stone has always loved Dylan, at such a critical moment for the ailing magizine and songwriter they were not about to throw his newest creation out the window. also, I admire Dylan's other work as to John Wesley Harding and etc, but I always felt he wasn't really in his own skin around that time, like he was trying to be this cowboy/farmer guy all of a su

most groups are even lucky to make a mark like YHF and A Ghost Is Born, let alone have such impressive back catalogs as BT ST and then SBS. After Dylan did Highway 61 and Blonde on Blonde, he's made virtually only 2 albums [blood on the Tracks and Desire] that even compare. Most bands usually make 1 or 2 or 3 noticable records, the only exception is The Beatles, for the most part.

do people really look for such bullshit reasons to hate their favorite band (which, if I'm not mistaken, they like) that they draw ridiculous conclusions to the extent that having their music in a few car commercials equals supporting the company they thereby are trying to stop? dumping toxic sludge in rivers is bad. endorsing cars does not mean they endorse that. jesus, I can't tell if some people even like Wilco with the amount of inane cynical preachy bullshit they bring up. I'm not reacting to anyone in general but to the people that remain vehement on the asinine idea that Wilco h

I thought for a little bit, and thought maybe they'd go for a very "rocking" album too.

play I'm a Wheel or Kicking Television or make a playlist encompassing the Wilco songs that are more upbeat. Wilco is not party music unless you choose very closely.

two new songs today! edit: holy crap, Seahorse is really good, and both songs show this huge gap in his music compared to his last album...4/4 so far! -
hence why everyone says it's louder. but I read the book too, and if I recall correctly they say they actually cooperated with him in the musical sense, too, and he mixed it?
-
Ghost ST SBS YHF BT AM if you include KT it would probably be second.
-
I think this is the worst song they could have used to open the album with...I had the hardest time warming up to Summerteeth this song sets the whole thing up so poorly.

I wasn't sure of people's opinions of him here, since no one had even mentioned him until now. Is it whole "he's just some dumb hippie hipster" idea or something? edit: that, and most people here appreciate a country/blues influence in their listening, is what I see.
