I always look forward to seeing you at Solid Sound, Tim, so I'm disappointed too. But better to get the surgery over with and not have to deal with the hassle of rescheduling. I have no doubt there's much more music in your future.

As of this morning BT has the lead at 30% over YHF at 27%. Our campaign seems to be working, but we can't let up now. Keep voting for Being There!

Wow! "Well, that was sort of it." Fantastic find!

Okay, remember the covers set in 2013 when they opened up with The Boys Are Back In Town? Remember what a thrill that was? And how perfect it was since the the boys were in fact back in town? Well, that's the same huge jolt of joy it would be to watch them take the stage and launch into a full on rock version of Misunderstood. "Back in your old neighborhood" (I.e., North Adams.) Come on, people, this is a no brainer! We've got to launch a mega ballot stuffing campaign for Being There!

Beautiful shot!

I've only talked with him on the phone but yes, his name is Henry so I'm sure that's the same guy. Small world! This all evolved from Susan Tweedy posting the t-shirt on her FB page. I bought it and then noticed that Jeff was wearing it at shows and I thought it would be a cool idea for us to show some unity at Solid Sound. It kind of mushroomed from there. Now I hear that Henry spoke with Susan and wanted to make sure we wouldn't have a problem if Wilco decided to promote the t-shirt on its own. I told him I thought it would be fine. By the way, 100% of the proceeds (not just profits) fro

Super fresh update as of today (4/27): The shirt designer just called to tell me that Wilco may be officially promoting the shirts as well. Stay tuned--I'm not exactly sure how this will all be shaking out. Just wanted you all to know before you see it from Wilco. We started a movement! Or hopped on the bandwagon at just the right time.

Tonight! Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit under the stars in Portsmouth, VA.

Update: There is now a special Solid Sound version of Jeff Tweedy's ubiquitous shirt. There are still some regular shirts (white lettering on either black or red shirts) but also now a special version with yellow letters on a black shirt, created just for us. As I understand it, just place your order between now and late May, the the store will have all shirts printed and shipped to you directly in time for the festival weekend. Just follow the link. https://feltgoodco.myshopify.com/products/were-all-in-this-together-shirt

There's a Solid Sound 2017 Facebook group you might want to look into joining. As people's plans evolve, it would probably be a good place to connect if your plans are still incomplete.

No matter what, Jeff never gives less than his all to these shows. I mean, when you hear what someone's request is and think you might know how it's going to be delivered in this setting, in front of this audience, he always comes up with the perfect way of putting that song across. Even though this wasn't a banter-heavy show, you could feel and see his passion and intensity. This felt like a very real Jeff tonight.

He did a live show on the BBC recently and sang a live acoustic version of a new one called Last of My Kind. I heard it via a post on a Jason Isbell fan group. I think I like it better than Hope the High Road.

He's pre-released two tracks. Both sound good. I'll be seeing him next week and am wondering how much of the upcoming record he'll play. Probably just the pre-released songs.

Did anyone catch Son Volt on CBS Saturday Morning? There's a regular segment at the end of the show called Saturday Sessions in which they have a musical guest. There's usually an interview segment followed by 2 or 3 songs. Not surprisingly, in this case there were 3 songs but no interview. They sounded good, though.

Sorry I keep violating the "tonight" rule, but I just saw Birds of Chicago at an outdoor-under-the-tent house concert. Anyone here know of them? They were wonderful and perfect for a warm early spring night.

Jeff Tweedy Chicago Vic questions about venue
Magnetized replied to Cheesetime's topic in After The Show
Agree with everything theashtraysays said. Just one more thing: Come prepared to participate. Sometimes it takes the crowd a while to stop being quiet and reverential. Jeff is pretty adept at letting us know he enjoys a singalong. That doesn't mean calling out requests, because the setlist will have already been decided for the night by the first 30 people in line (the crazies!) but it always seems like Jeff gets into it when the crowd joins in the choruses. It's a night to let your Wilco freak flag fly. Also, there will probably be special t-shirts and posters for the shows, so plan for tha -
Was it the first Solid Sound when Glenn left after the Saturday night Wilco set? I think so, because I believe it was 2011 when Glenn was walking around with his baby in one of those baby bjorn things with protective headphones on the baby. So cute!

Apologies for the late posting, but I saw a super fun, high energy Gogol Bordello show last night. Long live Gypsy punk!

Their show at The National on 3/29/2010 was memorable and it transformed me from a normal person into the raging lunatic you see before you. I would love to see another Wilco show there. They've also had some good shows at the Norva in the past (I think 2004 and 2007, if memory serves) but the show on February 9, 2016 made me ashamed to live in this shithole of a town. Incessant talking throughout. I'm now much more sympathetic to how important venue and demographics of the available audience are

Good point. The only reason I was suggesting Friday was because it's the first day of the festival and we'd have the rest of the weekend to get to know each other. But I think you may be right, there will be more people on Saturday and we'll have all day to show off our shirts.

I am cross posting something from the Facebook group A Shot in the Arm, an idea I had for a prank that I think would be fun at this year's Solid Sound. I put it up in the form of a poll and at this time the votes are 48 in favor of the We're All In This Together t-shirt and 11 in favor of a striped t-shirt. Here's the original post. With just a little over two months to go before Solid Sound, I would love to pull some kind of a prank to delight the band on Friday, to show a whimsical, warm solidarity for the weekend. I have 2 ideas, both pretty low key, that I think would amuse the band and

I'm not surprised that Glenn is married to such an exceptional woman. Congratulations to her for sure!

I've been wondering the same thing. At the Vic shows on the 21st and 22nd sometimes the song requesters can also ask a question. Maybe someone (maybe me?) can ask about that.

They don't always include interview segments on those CBS Saturday Morning music profiles. Something tells me that if there is one, it'll be brief.
