Yep.

But way too short. I hope we see more of him this season.

I think you're correct, but I don't think they ended disastrously, and some time has passed, and they both have a sense of history, and...oh, who knows, but I'd place a decent-sized bet on it.
-
Unless Billy's schedule precludes it, I would bet good money he'll make a guest appearance at the first night of Winterlude.

To me the recent shows from LA and--in particular--the show from the Netherlands the day after the election sound great, but I don't have an audiophile's ears.

Thank you for that info. I wonder if you can get a upgraded pass for just the Wilco show. I can't see paying double the festival admission price just to get priority access to the Wilco show. I'll check further on the website, but if anyone happens to know about the possibility of a VIP pass just for one show, I'd appreciate the info.

That's a good question. I've got just a GA weekend pass but Wilco is my top priority. If I need to get something in addition to that to get a prime position for Wilco, I'd like to know about it.

Years ago I heard this interview and it's still one of the best I've ever heard from Jeff. I bought it on Audible and was going to post a link to it for everyone to enjoy, but Audible now says it's unavailable. I don't know whether it's a rights issue, a lack of interest, or what, but does anyone have it saved somewhere so that others can access it? it's so frustrating when things just disappear like this!

He got the catbird seat for sure. What a great tribute to Mavis, too!

With her escort/collaborator/#1 fan Jeff Tweedy in tow. On CBS at 9:00pm.

What Child Is This, Theologians?

I know it was sold out on Saturday, not sure about the entire weekend. But yes, last year was more crowded. If I ruled the world, I'd keep the price for early bird passes affordable but definitely increase them, and I would have a pretty steep price increase for regular price passes and one-day passes. They need to make money, and I for one appreciate the democratic nature of Solid Sound, with no VIP areas, etc.
-
I know this sounds like heresy, but I really feel they should charge more for this festival. Space is so limited and demand seems relatively inelastic. Wouldn't we all be happy to pay a little more and not have the place be so overcrowded? After all, the ticket price is just the tiniest part of the expense of this festival.
-
What do you mean? Did you personally go to their box office? I went on their website just now and clicked for tickets and it was the same price, with I think a $13.50 handling fee.

Going to see Nels Cline along with a couple of jazz players Gerald Cleaver and Larry Ochs tonight at a small venue in Richmond, VA. I think the other guys play sax and drums. Thanks to Nalafej for keeping up that thread about Wilco-related side projects or I'd never have found out about this.

Kudos to whoever requested More Like the Moon. That was my top request at both Vic charity shows earlier this year and I was denied both nights. I've never heard that one live. Also, I Can't Keep From Talking. There's a nice ironic touch to having Jeff play that in such an intimate setting with longtime fans. Sounds like a great night!

It just hit me that the new run of shows announced yesterday are billed as part of the Schmilco tour, as opposed to the four night run in Chicago being billed as Winterlude. I guess what I'm thinking is that even though the newly announced dates include multiple consecutive nights at one theater, we shouldn't expect as much set list variation at Schmilco shows as at Winterlude shows. I don't think the difference in the names of the shows is accidental.

Right there with you, Boss.

It wasn't the best or most apropos phrase--it was just the first thought that came to me, having heard somebody say it recently. I was trying to convey that there's a tendency for people to say, well, I guess there's no turning back now, so let's make the best of it. -

My best guess? It's kind of like the advice to women: If rape is inevitable, just lie back and enjoy it. People may be answering polls figuring that this travesty is also inevitable so they're trying to put the best face on it. -

I think they would be of limited duration and survivable. I'm honestly not sure a Trump presidency will be survivable. The thing is, I've talked with a few Trump voters personally--and listened to more in the media--and I honestly believe many of them had no fucking idea in the world that he would actually win. I think it was a protest vote--a cry to be heard--but now that we are seeing what an utter fool he is, I think his support is actually eroding. Of course there would be repercussions, but I don't think they would be fatal to the republic.. -

OK, here's my favorite fantasy. The thing is, I believe it could actually happen. Stanger things have happened this entire election year. We now know that Clinton won the popular vote, but because of the way the electoral college is constructed, Trump has won the election. Fair enough, I guess--we knew the rules going in. (Side issue: THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!) But electors can become "faithless electors" on December 19 and cast their vote for Clinton rather than Trump. Is it likely that they would do this? Not at all, as things stand now. But what if something truly egregious were to be div -
