This is correct, close the thread. It's pretty remarkable really, given the size of their catalog.

One of their best songs..

This. And that's all I can think of right now. I think there was a thread a while back about which voice do you prefer, Paul's or John's. Paul is much better singing harmony, IMO.

I was listening to Z the other day.. To me, MMJ peaked on that album, and it's been kind of down hill ever since. What a fantastic album...

Yeah, at least in my experience, Squier's are either hit or miss.. But mostly hit. I have played some where you couldn't tell the difference between it and an American, and I've played a couple that I wouldn't use to prop open a door.

That's actually a very good, appropriate list in my opinion. Glad to see they included The Pixies. Although I would probably replace RHCP with Aerosmith.

I took my boys to their first concert (Wilco) when they were 5 and 6. We sat in the balcony where it wasn't very loud, everyone around us sat the whole show. They enjoyed it very much. They can be proud of their first concert experience.. My first concert was Debbie Gibson when I was 8 years old.. I'm glad I was able to make their first concert one of the best bands ever.

I'm just fighting to survive these days, so I don't have time for any kind of crisis. It's kind of liberating actually.. Vibes PT.

Not enough to really tell much, but that's a nice little ditty.

Cool. Thanks! -

My guess would be they probably won't get the full hour. They are on the lower end of the popularity spectrum, which is not a bad thing.. Pretty much everyone I tell about Dr. Dog says "Dr. Who?". But the people that do know them are well aware of their awesomeness... One of the few bands (might even be the only band I know) that will never.. I repeat never disappoint at their live shows... -

Wow, that's an all-star set. I'm glad they finally got their spot on ACL.. They have been long overdue. -

I wouldn't know, unfortunately I didn't get to see the performance. I'll plan on keeping an eye out for November then. Thanks. -

So does anyone know typically when a ACL performance is aired after the taping? I'd like to know when to start checking for Dr. Dog's performance.. Can't miss it.. -
Hey, that reminds me of these.

I just got that! And nice to the post above... I actually still use one of those when I break out the old N64.

Band lead singers you met? Friendly, not friendly? Impressions?
lamradio replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
One of the nicest lead singers I have met was Annie Clark (St. Vincent) last month.. Very very friendly, and when I told her that I was a Berklee alumni like her, she seemed genuinely interested, asked my major etc.. She said she went for Jazz guitar but said it didn't work out too well.. I would say she still did pretty well for herself. And oh yeah, she's gorgeous. -
Did the Karate Kid lookalike win a contest or something?

Back door methods, also known as corruption.

Badu. More like Bad(who?).. Rimshot! It was all a big publicity stunt that is getting both the lips and Badu some recognition.
-
Yeah, that's probably his best one. That album basically set the standard for jazz guitar. Great guitarists have been born just trying to imitate Wes.. There will never be another like him..

I think the song is great. I love the direction the Flaming Lips have been going since Embryonic, which by the way is my favorite album of theirs. They have always been weird and experimental, but now they have gone complete acid/noise rock. I hope they keep in this direction, and really look forward to their new album (supposedly) later this year.
