Seeing them tonight ... in Fort Wayne!!! I love this song, too. One of my fav's from Eef's "Lose Big" And I'm really REALLY excited to hear The Heligoats' Chris Otepka opening for Clem Snide. "Been A Drill" - !!! - http://www.myspace.com/theheligoats I love it when the sax sets in. They're heading to Schuba's (Chicago) tomorrow.

Some people actually move themselves to where Wilco IS playing when they want to see a show. If that is impossible for you, of course it is understandable that you are jonesing for a show near you, and you will just have to be patient until such local shows are announced ... and have faith you will see it posted here in "Just A Fan" with a big giant thread of ecstatic comments! (unless it's in a sucky venue ) Patience, thagle. You'll get a Chicago show or maybe 5 again.

Hey Drew! Hope your birthday is the best ever! Drewwwwww!

Great song! I love Elvis!!! Although it is sorta hard to watch Roseanne Cash sitting there not singing! The lyrics are funnny on this one, especially the alternate verses depending on the locale!

Top 3 most underwhelming bands/artists you've ever seen
Wendy replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Someone Else's Song
Not technically, but when it comes to this topic (less-than-perfect shows), it's just the degree of sucky-ness. Or suck-ocity. Which brings me to another show I can add to this list (did I alread? maybe) The other night I saw Ryan Adams in Louisville, and he was underwhelming compared to his other shows I've seen. By no means BAD, but he can do so much better. It was sorta boring. -

None from me either re: Hall and Oates. I was deeply in love with Abandoned Luncheonette and I did see them perform in those days. A few times. Loved 'em. They're still in business, too. OK, I never saw this on The Daily Show from December 2008 ... The first time I saw these bands, they totally blew me away and were surprisingly good concerts, which is why I continue to travel to shows whenever I can swing it. Wilco Calexico Ryan Adams My Morning Jacket

Just adding this for posterity (and for you link-o-phobes). I will say I loved the part about how well the band gets on with each other.

Top 3 most underwhelming bands/artists you've ever seen
Wendy replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Someone Else's Song
The Shins - not even Eric Johnson from the Fruit Bats could save that band on stage. Boring. But I still like their CDs okay. Fiery Furnaces, opening for Wilco - twice I listened to that, although the second night I hung out in the RCMH lobby instead. Joe Bonamassa - just can't get into a guy in a suit and tie with sunglasses on stage. Indoors. At night. And playing uninspired blues. I really only went because it was a local performance at the Embassy and heaven knows they need support to bring ANYBODY to our city. And it pains me to say both of these bands are underwhelming as wel -
Wow, this is a weird thread - all at once I'm happy for new Califone tunes but also mortified at the violence one of the band members experienced.

No, Hollinger is right -- "lack of shows in Chicago" is a premature complaint. And really a false one anyway, in the big picture, because thagle's "in over 1 year" gauge conveniently excludes the 5-night Riviera stand which occurred just 1 year + 1 month ago. I'm not feeling too sorry for chicagoans just yet.
-
Why ... it's so simple, really. I wonder why thagle didn't think of this in the first place!?!
-
Hope all your dreams come true today!

you are evil

OK, no more fish violence ... I've merged the threads. So anyone else listen yet?
-
My response to both you guys' comments = Talk about amazing encounters! So cool!

Now this will be something good for my drive to Louisville tomorrow! Thanks for the alert, OTM!

Woah! Makes me wonder what we all would do in the same situation, but I'm thinking we might show up at the farrar board asking the same question ! Feel free to hang out here at VC until you get things straightened out. We love Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, and Jay Farrar here, so you're amongst friends! -
This works for me every time ... Cocteau Twins

Hmmm ... notice the lack of Wilco shows in PopTodd's list.
