Yep, well Saturday night anyway! Molly, great report from HSB! I love ROcktober! There's so many shows happening right now and I just saw 3 in a row - Ryan Adams Thursday night in Indy, Ben Folds with Fort Wayne Philharmonic on Friday, and then MMJ in Detroit Saturday night (with a extra special appearance by Ms Yvon & Co from LA!!!) So I've seen some pretty great performances, and it's been a lot to take in but by far MMJ put on the highest energy show Sat night in Detroit at the Fillmore. Wish we could do it all over again next Saturday night! Great times! Wish I could have bee

Hope it's a great one!

Apologizing for the current problem we have with uncontrolled X-rated spam right now. Somehow it is getting past the filters and hopefully Solace will find a fix for this soon.

Hope you had a happy BD Elizabeth!

That's a pretty nice lineup! And free! Thanks for letting us know about this.

Oh, I so hoped to be reading word of her being found. Jules, vibes for Lilly to return home soon!

Those are Neal Casal songs. I have never heard them do "Come Pick Me Up" so I'm hoping Columbus or Indy shows will provide.

Isn't that awesome? Mrs. Peel has been busy! Donna, that is a great photo of Nat's sculptures. Thanks to the Hotel S'n'S folks for the song from their show.

I do not have this. I will remedy this thanks to Owl & Bear and all those who help out with the project.

I never met her either, but her great personality came shining through in the words she left us here at VC. I wonder if she knew how much she was admired? I hope so.

It's a new HBO series about horny vampires and humans in the bayou. Only 3 shows in. We've talked a little about it here: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=36954

Blink-182's Travis Barker critical injured in a plane crash...
Wendy replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
Tragic news. My 17-year-old nephew is a huge Blink-182 fan and this will make him so sad. My brother and I took him and his young buddies to see them in Indy a few years ago, and although I'm not a fan, I definitely appreciated that guy's skills behind a drum kit. I hope he recovers quickly but burns almost always lead to scar formation which would probably limit his skills. Man, this sucks. -
NICE LINEUP! I think Miss Jayne will be happy. Depends on your definition of "grannies" I know a lot of rockin' grannies here at VC.

Yeah, me too. If Ryan Adams stated he wants to be called Cardinals, and it isn't going to be, it has to be other people (label/mgmt) deciding that one.
-
I agree. But I have a feeling, knowing how I like to keep a single artist grouped together in my iPod, I'd probably spend the time to re-tag those "Cardinals" to "Ryan Adams and the Cardinals" songs anyway. @ self

Hey, I had to stop somewhere. And I guess I was thinking more live performances.
-
And on behalf of all living people ... whew! :beer AWATT - glad it went so smoothly ... hope there's no more worries!

That's a hard one -- I have a 4-way tie for 2nd place. Calexico Ryan Adams & The Cardinals (or "Cardinals" as they are called now) My Morning Jacket Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers These bands blew me away this year. And last year. And maybe the year before as well.
