  1. Maybe you should contact MusicToday and ask them when they are sending them. From MusicToday's website: If you are only wondering if everyone else at Via Chicago who bought presale tickets for that show have received them, then you need to wait much longer than 20 minutes for a reply.
  2. Usually Wilco uses MusicToday as their ticketing agency for fan presales. Right now there are no active links on Wilcoworld's tour page http://wilcoworld.net/tours/index.php to give you, so just keep an eye on that tour page for it to be updated with active links. Once you see that link become active, follow it and get registered with Musictoday's Wilco section ahead of time or you will lose valuable time at the moment of the presale. You create your own password, so you'll need to remember it come time of the presale. I don't know if they've always called it "Wilco Ticketing" - I g
  3. I know! I was wondering why I had no idea there was a Lansing show! That was 2006! Damn, though - I had my hopes up! Anyway, I separated the threads and we can start fresh with info for Oranje Spur with posts from 2007.
  4. You had me with "Clever indie pop harmonies" -- and this was an enjoyable listen. I sampled the 2 at MySpace. I'll definitely download the songs and give them all a spin. Nice work!
  5. Thanks Kris. Yeah, I saw that, but I have to consider the time change, because I lose an hour driving home from Chicago after a show, and this is a work night so it's a bit less severe to go to Cleveland where there is no time change. Each hour helps when you're sleep deprived! I do have tix for RA in Ann Arbor, Chicago, and Kalamazoo. Plus I've seen them 4 times already in the last 12 months, so I need to draw the line somewhere, right? but they're sooooooo good live!
  6. Hey Boots - enjoy Ryan & the Cardinals at the Murat! Dang - Drive-By Truckers are playing their "The Dirt Underneath" show in Cleveland that same night, and I decided I must see DBT's acoustic set one time. Ryan I will see in other cities.
  7. More yellow kitties for your Birthday! PS - Wish Melissa a good one for me, as well!
  8. (sorry if this was discsused already, but nothing recent came up on a search) from Harp Magazine: http://harpmagazine.com/news/detail.cfm?article=11541
  9. I just want to see him with the E-Street Band one time. Never have. Caught the past solo tour and I LOVED it. So a new CD means a tour! Yay!
  10. Mine has 2 CDs in it. I haven't seen anyone call it a bonus EP. from Jagjaguwar: http://www.jagjaguwar.com/ and... from Amazon.com: High prices in the amazon resale section (25, 50, 80 bucks!) Those 1500 are apparently sold out (I bought mine from Jagjaguwar for 11 bucks), but I think I read at okkervil's new website that they were making more available to indie stores, something like that. http://okkervilriver.com/ iTunes and eMusic have other non-CD tracks. From the jagjaguwar website:
  11. Nooooo! (haven't heard it yet)
  12. That's a good feeling! I love it when that happens! But it doesn't happen with every band for every person. I also enjoyed "Dig" and it made me curious about the two bands, and I liked some of the Dandy Warhols and some of the BJM I ran across, and it was a sweet but short-lived interest for me, as I moved on to something else in search of that sometimes elusive feeling of Just Loving Everything about a new band.
  13. Also, lots of love around here for anything by The National - especially the newest release called the Boxer (I admit to not yet giving enough attention to The National but what I have heard, I like - and if you like it and are heading back to ATL, Sept 8 you can catch them at the Variety Playhouse). And I'll second the Spoon recommendation.
  14. After following this thread for some time seeking some sort of reassurance that I wasn't the only one confused, I have to agree with you, LS. I never cared about the characters, and I will need a good dose of botox on my forehead to get rid of the "WTF?" look on my face while watching this show. I quit after a few episodes. I am sorry for those of you who loved it, as that's always sad when it's cancelled. I guess I'm more an Entourage-Curb-SATC-Sopranos type of viewer.
  15. Thanks for your review! I was planning on going but the heat and the 7 hours in a car and the gas $ and the Chicago traffic and parking all seemed overwhelming when the moment came to leave my house, and so I stayed home and watched the DVD documentary about the life of professional rodeo riders to which Tim Rutili contributed work on the soundtrack (very enjoyable, by the way, but a small consolation to missing a Califone performance). I agree wholeheartedly that watching the two percussionists interplay is fascinating, one of my favorite things as well. I'll be certain to watch for the as
  16. Welcome back Nick! I hope to hear some stories about your experience one day -- but to answer your question: Okkervil River - The Stage Names (and I recommend waiting for the 2-CD version to become available again, as it's sold out at the moment). Iron & Wine - Shepherd's Dog (right now only a leak, official release in a month)
  17. Definitely in the top 10 for me. No question. I'm really loving it. I got the version with two discs - the extra acoustic demos disc is stop-dead-in-your-tracks fabulous as well. I wish all bands did this! Will Sheff and Jagjaguwar rule! New website with messages from Will in the "news" section: http://okkervilriver.com/
  18. Lobster party! Sounds like a really fun birthday weekend.
  19. same reason as Duluth, MN show. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=30391 Nels, hope you feel better soon!
