  1. I'm right there with you on that one. I love Califone!
  2. D-Man is a lucky kid. Sounds like you made it out of there without any crowd anxiety as well ... bodes well for lots of future shows with your boy! Good work, Crowjack!
  3. And just where were you when they were teaching double negatives, missy? Enjoy the show everyone! PS to Kidsmoke: Here's how you find Clouds of Fluff in a crowd. Wait until the show is just over, then make your way to the stage front and walk around yelling: "Meliiiiiiissa" ... ... ... "Meliiiiiiissa" And then just when everyone else in the crowd starts to take pity on you for losing your friend , a really pretty young lady wearing a Crowded House t-shirt will turn around and ...
  4. I did just wake up -- I must be dreaming!
  5. Yes, a couple of times he broke out the harmonica. Once he even climbed up and stood on the piano bench (I was so worried he would fall, not because he's blind necessarily, but because he's not so young anymore! ) Oh - I forgot about this: (from Detroit News) Keith John's father wrote "Fever."
  6. Attention all Wilco photographers! OK, at first I thought you were a little crazy, but after reading your blog and seeing the pictures of "the guys" perched around Wilco's equipment on stage, now I get it. Good luck on your project! PS - Those little bird toys are cute! And educational as well. I hope they make some money for the Audubon Society. I suppose they are, or they would not be making so many of them.
  7. Oh, good point. I never saw anyone use that drumset. When we arrived at our seat late because of the parking lot fiasco, he was already on stage talking to the crowd. But all the way into the venue, we heard no music. And the first song on the setlist we did hear. So it is possible they changed the planned setlist slightly due to the show's delay. I'm still grinning from it! Definitely a hightlight of 2007 for me.
  8. Yes ... I screwed up. That's the song she was playing around with him on. Not Sunshine. Duh. My bad. I'll fix it.
  9. Reporting in! I had SOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun at this show! Stevie Wonder blew me away - he was completely, utterly out of this world! This article sums up the experience far better than I could - and be sure to listen to some of the after-show interview clips with Stevie over on the right side of the page where Stevie mentions he hopes to launch a full-blown tour -- including Australia. (Sir Stewart, you may still have a chance!) http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article.../709130444/1035 And I found a setlist there: Meadowbrook - Detroit - September 12, 2007 Loves in
  10. You made it to your 30's! Yay! Cool you could ring it in with Wilco.

  12. now, that's my kind of "dad rock" comment! Glad to hear you all loved the show so much! I missed it but for a good reason - Stevie Wonder outdoors at Meadowbrook in Detroit! Onward with more Wilco stories!
  13. Yes, they do have a will-call option at Auditorium. Just ask at the ticket office at the main door when you arrive, and give them your photo ID (driver's license?) and credit card that you used to order the tickets. Enjoy the show!
  14. I'm assuming they sent the password to Old Town School of Folk Music members, so maybe call the school and ask what's up if you didn't get your notice. And it probably would not be fair to Old Town members if that password was shared openly on the internet.
  15. Mart, my heart goes out to you at this anniversary of your losses. I was obviously not paying attention here, not aware how deeply you and your family were touched by 911. And Lammycat, how difficult it must have been for you to be in charge of 5th graders during those moments, how to explain to them what was happening, how to comfort them as they had to have been so scared - ??? No, no one will ever forget that day.

    Summerteeth

I knew it was expensive, but is the out-of-print Summerteeth vinyl always going for this much? $ 186? (it's eBay item number 120154753621 in case my link doesn't work) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...DME:B:WNA:US:12

    Cool shirt

That's an older and apparently retired design, unfortunately. It is way cool.
  18. Aw, I'm sorry Tweedling ... you hung in there so valiantly for Wilco.
  19. Hey Dan! I think 3 came to just under 120 bucks including service fees etc on MusicToday. TM says seats are $28 and $33 and, of course, fees are probably a tad higher on TM.
  20. Me too! My imagination is running wild about the sex pack underneath. Ooooh, the ripples!
  21. I think my Christmas shopping is done. Just buy everyone a popcorn gift set and be done with it. I never know what to get some people in my family. Thanks for the link Jen!
  22. I'm sad to say, don't hold out for Fort Wayne (not that we have given up, mind you ). But you'd be better off hanging your hopes on the little State Theatre in Kalamazoo which sells out every time because it's only 1500 seats.
