  2. This is seriously exciting. Mine as well - I play (free download here courtesy Califone/Pastrysharp) "Quarter Horses" a LOT. Like nearly every day. I love how Tim Rutili bends notes on that one. Well this is all fantastic news. It looks like all is well in Califoneland. I will be looking forward to the next project, whatever it may be, whenever it may happen. It will be brilliant. I have a lot of faith in Califone.
  3. I agree - that XRT presale was messed up. Seats did finally show up 20+ minutes later for me, and I had 2 in row MM (not too bad) but then lost them by spending too much time looking at the seating chart, trying to figure out where MM really was. Aaaagh! More seats kept showing up until about 11 o'clock, but they were not very good seats (row Q in the Chicago Theatre is practically the last row), and so I decided my 2nd row in K-zoo and the pending seats from a friend for the Ann Arbor show will be good enough. Maybe tomorrow's regular on-sale will do better? One other thing - I have
  4. I liked the trailer. I'll probably see it when it gets released in my area, because it looks like a big-screen type of film, not DVD (at least on my old TV).
  5. I'd love a copy -- PM sent Thank you!
  6. I didn't see this until today, so maybe it is old news to some of you, but Stereogum has a nice article posted 8/2 plus a video commentary by Zach Rogue about the new album. I'm really looking forward to hearing it. http://www.stereogum.com/archives/video/ro...p;utm_medium=mc

  11. You were probably there with a bunch of Fort Wayne dudes - we got the love for You Am I big time here. They had a similar review to yours, YAI +++++, Smoking Popes - okay. I would have been there too, but I was on vacation and one show (below) was all I could manage. And yeah, the Detroit concert crowd is weird. I will say this, only 50-75 people showed up for Jason Isbell last Wednesday night there, but he ripped the place up in a much MUCH grander performance than his opening slot for Son Volt a few months back (although in his defense, that was just 3 days after his departure from DBT
  12. Aricandover, you should donate that plaid cap to the project. Weren't you wearing it when Jeff kissed you?
  13. Very good interview! Thanks for the link. My favorite:
  14. Lots o fun, but take ear plugs. Is Spooner Oldham still touring them? If so, that'll be a treat.
  15. metromix.com says "$5 donation benefits the West Town Chamber of Commerce"
  16. According to Wilcobase, it was only played solo on these dates. And you can argue that the 3rd one is not really solo since it is performed with the Wilco Ensemble. Someone else will have to help you find out if those two dates were taped. I know the 3rd one was, as it is generously hosted by The Owl & The Bear. 2003-05-16 Jeff Tweedy Martyr's Chicago, IL 2004-12-21 Jeff Tweedy Second City Chicago, IL 2006-01-28 Jeff Tweedy Ken's (Letters To Santa Living Room Show) Lake County, IL
  17. Both shows I've seen (Detroit at the Gem, and Louisville at the Brown) - no opener. Show started pretty close to on time, 10-15 minutes late maybe, so do what you can to get there ASAP. Hey, scribex6 - we'll be lookin for a report! Have a good one! Here's to a nice long encore
  18. Let's do this again -- but in Chicago!!!
