  1. It could happen - - if the presale tickets are good, I might just have to go. And yes, there should be some partying going on pre-show.
  2. This round of Wilcoworld presales has required no password like in the past. when it was "ghost" or "chrome" or "meter" or "blisters" or whatever. All you have to do is create an account sometime before you buy the tickets. This requires you to create your own username and your own password, and that is the only password you need to get back into your own MusicToday account to order your tickets. -- not coming to Indy, eh?
  3. Yes - I got an email from Cincinnati Arts Association titled: "Special Pre-Sale Offer: Wilco" And yes, I'm assuming the Wilcoworld presale will have good seats as well.
  4. You know, you don't need to use an alias to speak your mind. I appreciate your opinion in any event.
  5. There is a different presale going on right now from the Cincinnati Arts Organization which I subscribed to yesterday via the Aronoff Center's website. It's one of those kinds where you don't know what seats you get until after their presale is over.
  6. thanks for the link ... A-Man, he has been playing very VERY much Dead-like the last 2 times I saw him within the last 12 months. When RA & Cardinals played The Vogue in Indy, he stopped in the indie record store around the corner from The Vogue and bought an armful of Grateful Dead stuff. [Thisyearsgirl (Jen) probably knows the story better than me though.] And he was definitely channeling GD at the Cubs Care benefit in Chicago this January as well. Played on and on, so freakin' good. I hope you're going to the show -- I only wish I lived closer.
  7. from Chicago's XRT newsletter: THURSDAY, April 19th at 2:00pm: Andrew Bird with Frank E. Lee. Andrew Bird will play an XRT Show at the Riviera Theatre on Friday Night, but you'll hear him live on XRT Tomorrow Afternoon around 2:00pm when he talks with Frank E. Lee and plays a set Live From Studio X. http://93xrt.com/
  8. So sorry he wasn't found alive. Pretty devastating for the family and friends I'm sure, after all these months of hope. Well, my thoughts and vibes are heading your way.
  9. I have heard of a color being described as niger brown before.
  10. No matter how corrupt, greedy, or heartless our government, our corporations, our media, and our religious or charitable institutions may become, the music will still be wonderful. If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: "The only proof he needed for the existance of God was music." Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007)
  11. If you need a reason to smile today (I know I do ) ... check out this cute little video by The Shins. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoID=2022012543 If that's not enough: The Shins world domination continues ... From Blogoteque on the streets of Paris: (Love's "Alone Again" cover - nice! ) here A 15-minute interview on ABC News "The Mix" here The Shins on KCRW "Morning Becomes Eclectic" with Nic Harcourt from March 27, 2007 (although I can't get this to work :/ ) here
  12. Hey - I'm a merger and a mover, not a deleter. So FWIW, it wasn't me. Plus, if you look up a little bit further, you will see your post is still there, Mr. Paranoid.
  13. (FYI - In my semi-skilled housekeeping efforts, I moved and merged two after-show threads and screwed up the title of this thread a bit, sorry ... hopefully it's fixed well enough now )
  14. This is a trip. Are they like this in concert? I have never seen them. http://shamelesscomplacency.wordpress.com/...h-conan-obrien/
  15. Thanks, Scott, for starting this thread. I've been thinking about the Australian fans for the past few days, trying to imagine how excited they must be getting for the shows. Aussie VC'ers -- HAVE A GREAAATTTTT TIME! And don't forget to report back to us!!! We're dying to hear about it
  16. MusicToday was going to post the winners at their website, but I don't seem to find anything on their site. ... but notice the word "may" http://www.musictoday.com/interact/contest...ageChoice=rules So I'm curious, too -- did anybody win anything yet?
  17. Hands down, this was the funniest Jeff Tweedy show I've ever seen at The Vic.
  18. should I believe you? http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=27834
  19. The November 2006 show at the Magic Bag in Detroit was one of my favorite shows of recent memory. I really really wished I could see another show on this tour, I enjoyed it that much, but none of their dates/locations worked for me. What a great band! I think I love Scott McCaughey. And Peter Buck on his jangly guitar! But what a bunch of characters they are, especially Robyn Hitchcock with his 15-minute lead-in story to "Briggs"
  20. http://www.flickr.com/photos/michael_fores...57594575000499/ Some nice B&W photos of Glenn from March 5, 2007 at the Record Bar in Kansas City.
  21. Hey, as far as addictions go, this one is pretty harmless.
  22. That's one big-ass pit! As for the other cities they are visiting, I hope the band reserved the pit seats for charity auctions or surprise last-minute giveaways that they sometimes do. Both are great ideas.
  23. You won't be able to see or hear well, but you still pay FULL PRICE to attend this event? That's just wrong. You are not alone. These verification codes are ridiculous anymore.
