I agree with you completely. Apparently the only great deal (good value) to see them live remaining is Solid Sound. We went the first two times but I was living on the East Coast then and it was just a 5-6 hour drive. We're settling for GA at Scottsdale and hope to still have a good time. I can't believe you got no response about the Red Rocks debacle, which it really is. And I'm holding Red Rocks GA tickets now unfortunately...

Unfortunately no. I made ski trip plans (and leaving that night) before I knew about that show. But thanks for asking! Wilco fans out here in the Four Corners are VERY few and far between which is a real bummer. And is really a shame because people here in general are really cool but....they can't get their heads out of their jamband/jamgrass/trancegrass/bluegrass and folk music butts long enough to listen to something different. And I like all that music too, but. Ok, rant over.

I just purchased two GA field seats at an all inclusive total of $85. So I guess I'll see some of you in Scottsdale! This was thru the Wilco ticketing presale. Ticketmonster required codes to get their presale. It looks like you can get 2nd row in Section C (Pat's side) still at this point if you're willing to shell out $145 a pair.

Good point...I may just go to both and probably should. A couple years ago we moved to a place (Durango CO) which is 4-7 hours from anywhere Wilco might ever play again. The only exception being Telluride which is only 2 hours away and the chances of that are pretty slim. We talked about it this morning and we think we can deal with the Field GA setup at Scottsdale. We've been looking for a reason to check out the Phoenix area so this will work for that.

I just saw this also -http://saltriverfields.com/Events.aspx and am now debating just going to Red Rocks as originally planned. $85 pit and then $65 for reserved? So if you opt for the $25 GA I guess you're stuck in the stands half a mile away?

It sure is...got to see Dr. Dog open for them in Dallas several years ago, great night! I may have to sell my Red Rocks GA tickets and go to this one instead, tough choice. Both venues 7 hour drives but that's the price I pay to live in paradise.

I'm just here to pile on with more Red Rocks GA location disappointment. Front Gate should have mentioned something.... Ok, have a nice day now.

I've been to Red Rocks three times now in the last couple years and the setup has been something like this- Rows 2-25 GA Rows 26-60 Reserved Rows 61-70 GA The first and last rows in the place are for folks with disabilities. There's also a VIP section in from of the soundboard booth that's several rows deep but doesn't go all the way across. I bought GA and plan to be in line early and get a spot in Row 6 or 7. GA tickets I had in the past had row numbers on them but they didn't mean anything.

WFUV is broadcasting Saturday show now live
billydee replied to Sun Caught Fire's topic in Just A Fan
Thanks a million! Sure sounds good here in Colorado! -
For cost/face value of course, my good friends in NJ can't make it now so they're selling the pair. Please contact here via pm and I'll try to get you guys together. Thanks

The 6:30pm start (most likely) means that LR Band plays until 7:15pm and Wilco takes the stage at 7:45pm. So a 10pm (or so) curfew makes for a strong possibility. Edit: just called the promoter and they told me something like "the curfew was not strict but that they wanted to try and meet the 10pm ending if possible".

Can anyone that was at the show last night please comment on things like- how long the lines were getting in, what the sound was like on the lawn, did they see any mics in the air (tapers), etc... thanks much!
-
Great point you made, I hadn't thought about that perfect timing at all. My good friend provides the sound reinforcement and crew for the Vibes stages and it sure would have been sweet to hear Wilco thru his amazingly sweet sounding Meyer system. Stan woulda loved it as well. Oh well.....maybe next time.

My 15th Wilco Anniversary! 2/15/97 Irving Plaza, NYC..anyone else there?
billydee replied to remphish1's topic in Just A Fan
I sure was there, what a night that was! I audio recorded the show and in fact the recordings that circulate are from another deck that was patched out of my Shoeps rig that night. Wilco played the night before at the Trocadero in Philly and I was pretty tired from that but somehow got a second wind for this nights barnburner. I even got a parking ticket that night...that I never paid! -
Thanks for doing this, it's much appreciated, especially for someone that could not be there.

Totally agree with your statement. I loved the song live myself, especially the little country-rock flourishes which reminded me a little of Poco and some others from that era. I also found it very Mountain Bed-esque in style and pace but played just a little too long for that particular crowd.

Outstanding mix of old and new in the setlist and crystal clear sound. And other than a few loud obnoxious drunks on the fringes to remind me I wasn't in North Adams, the performance was stellar. Getting to the venue by car, well that's another story. I thought they especially nailed Ashes, goosebumps all around for me. Thank you Wilco, for doing what you do.

Half price single for tonight in NYC (Thurs 9-22)
billydee replied to billydee's topic in Got Extras?
This ticket is still available as of 1:50pm today. -
It's surely going to rain, just not between the hours of 5pm and 10pm.
-
One friend bailed so we have an extra ticket for tonight and can meet someone at the show unless they happen to be in Newark NJ today. Asking $30 or $25 and a beer.

Two GA tix for this Thursday in Central Park available for the price I paid or even a little less. PM me if interested, thanks.

Band Of Heathens - for fans of Black Crowes, The Band...
billydee replied to museme3's topic in Someone Else's Song
The Band of Heathens are now officially "my latest favorite band" and are being added to the list of bands I have or will travel long distances to see live. These guys are waaaay underrated in my not so humble opinion. Also how cool is this- They're having a special two night gig coming up in Denver CO and via their website are asking fans to vote on which artist from this list they'd like to see BOH do a mini set of covers from. The list of bands you can vote on is- Wilco Grateful Dead The Faces Tom Waits Traffic -
Are people still waiting for their NYC Central Park tickets?
billydee replied to dmhphoto's topic in Just A Fan
Same here, no tix and no word from Frontgate as of yet. -
Looks to be GA tix (I assume PIT?) still available for Merriweather as of a couple mins ago.
