Just heard about a potential Wilco headlining show on Dec 6th in Rochester NY at the auditorium? Which would fit nicely between Toronto and Detroit....anyone else hearing anything similar?
-
Thank you Jesse. You rule.....we all drool.

Got 4 GA floors at 10am sharp, seemed kinda easy.

That may have been me. Front row in front of Pat, my girlfriend and I and the family of four behind us in row 2 had a wonderful time.

We're looking for something pre an/or post show also. Traveling down from Philly and staying at the Townplace Suites which is supposedly only a few miles away. Only in town less than 24 hrs and we want to do it up right.

Thanks for the sampling.....much appreciated!

Found tix, thanks! Have to cancel Wilmington and Brooklyn for surgery so this will be it for us this leg of the never ending SBS Tour. Need two nice seats in an area that people will be dancing in. (tall order I'm sure) This'll be the last chance for my girl to rock for several months. Thanks for looking.

I really like the Albuquerque set list...at least on paper.

Mogwai....hell yeah! There are some great live recordings of them available for download and streaming at archive.org. Makes for great late night ambience, in the background, while you are grooving with yo lady.....

Seeing seven shows on the SBS Tour so far I'd rate them this way. 1- Dublin (11-15) 2- New Orleans (Voodoo Fest) 3- Merriweather 4- Tower Philly 5- Northampton Pines 6- Dallas 7- Pittsburgh None were weak at all so rating them is tough and based on the overall experience. As far as trying to discern a great SBS show via recording, I'm really partial to the Vermont and Louisville shows.

Is John playing with a band or solo?????? thanks
-
Did John play with a band or solo? And did he play any X songs? thanks

FYI, the Tower holds appx 3119 people, the Electric Factory appx 3000. Sound at the Factory is typically mediocre, often poor although Wilco has sounded pretty decent there in the past.
-
Lower balcony at the Tower typically has the best sound and sightlines in the room. I say that as a person that's been seeing shows there since 1977. If it's all "sitters" around you and you're one too you'll love those seats.

Got two seats for Philly in the 14th row, then they were all gone a minute later.

Dang, I must be old and this crowd here young or something. X is arguably one of the most important and influential American bands since the late 70's. Guaranteed the guys in Wilco will be honored to share the stage with JD. Too bad Exene won't be there. Here's some info for ya'll that ain't hip to X yet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_(U.S._band)

I'll betcha a cheesesteak they invite John onstage at some point in the run and play an X cover.
-
Yeah baby. That's Mr. John Doe of the legendary band X. Life is good. X is one of a handful of bands that changed my life the day I first saw them live in 1983.

i'm feelin that scenario exactly....

Your Liverpool avatar remined me of the really cool Wilco scarf my girl bought me at the Dublin show which states "You never rock alone" and "Wilco, since 1994". Did anyone else pick one of these up? Or have they been around awhile and I just never noticed?

Well, finally recovering from a great trip to Ireland. Getting to see Wilco on our last night was brilliant! We loved the venue, and especially the balcony seats we were lucky enough to get. If you were there and saw two people in the center balcony dancing during the entire show, that was us. Love the venue layout with the bars outside the main room. And in the balcony you could dance and still not be a bother to those sitting behind you. Got to have pints and chat with my girlfriends cousins and some other nice folks prior to the show. The set was perfect for us. It was our 6th sho

I'd guess only about 7-8000 people hung around for them which suited us just fine. On the video you'd think it was packed but was sparse on the sides of and behind the soundboard. The set was friggin amazing and was especially hard rocking. It was our 5th of 6 shows this tour and may end up being the best. I was able to get the setlist from the soundboard and the first song read "Misunderstood or Via". They surely made the right choice with Misunderstood, which got a seemingly tired crowd going pretty good. But alas, only 20 (or 21 depending on how you count) "nothings"...... Was also

Well, my lady and me are traveling down from Philly on Sat morning. Unfortunately we'll miss the first day but Sat/Sun look pretty good overall. This will be our 5th of 6 shows on the SBS tour(s). I feel really blessed to be seeing this band so much during another of it's peaks. I figure that Hoodoo Voodoo encore last weekend was the soundcheck for them closing out with it at Voodoo Fest. If anyone from here wants to join us for an adult beverage on Sat or Sun night drop a line. We'll be headed directly to the Quarter after the shows.

Thanks for the venue description. That's about what I gathered from some research and other info. We're flying in from Philly that morning and staying in Irving that day and having dinner in Deep Elum (at "Monica's aca y alla" which I remember as being pretty awesome) before the show. I figure we'll roll (if not stumble) in to the Palladium at about 7:45pm or so during Dr. Dog, figuring WILCO will hit the stage at about 8:45pm. Guess I better not wear my Eagles jersey to the show huh?

Yes, I now need two for Dallas. Let me know, thanks.
