  1. Easily the best thing in this thread.
  2. that will have to be my next read/listen.
  3. I love Pelecanos...just finished reading his first trilogy and was looking for the next read. What is the soundtrack above. Is it formally released as a soundtrack or is it just his recommendation for a playlist?
  4. This may be my favorite album by these guys yet. edit: I also think "Sequestered in Memphis" may get them some radio play.
  5. I'd like some mp3s to tide me over.
  6. Probably could be a fat guy if he wasn't a rock star. That said, I'd like to see a few songs about something other than drug/alcohol imbibement this go around. He is a great lyricist but a bit too singularly focused for me thus far.
  7. WOW... I hadn't heard anything about this. Looks outstanding. Scott, Peter and Steve Wynn? How can you go wrong? edit: 3rd song in and really liking this one. I hope these guys tour.
  8. I'm assuming that you meant "hasn't" looked good. Completely agree. Keith is nothing if not impressive. I truly believe that Iggy will outlive him though.
  9. Keith doesn't look so good these days. Iggy is at least sober now (I believe).
  10. Fucking love it. I believe that album will stand the test of time.
  11. I saw him say it at the Riviera so I know it happened there. It was actually taped for a radio concert as well. I may have a tape of it somewhere.
  12. My thoughts exactly. Sunday appears to have 7 or 8 bands that I would love to see while Saturday has none.
  13. It was Tweedy at the Riviera in 97. It was just before he covered "Color Me Impressed".... well.
  14. I love Stage Names and BSB and strongly prefer the former. His voice does come off a bit "conor o'berst" at times but that lends it a bit of vulnerability. Either way, the guy is very clearly very into what he is delivering. It works for me. I'm looking forward to the new one.
  15. When Jeff's wife owned a club on the northside of Chicago, he used to occasionally DJ there to bring folks in on a Monday night or something. He had pretty stellar music taste and used to bring in a stack of LPs. Minor Threat and the Clash definitely come to mind.
  16. damn I wish I could hit that show. However, you may as well make this your last concert as that may be one of the pinnacle shows of your lifetime. I saw Wilco/REM there awhile back and that was a damn fine show. I think I'd prefer to see MMJ and the Black Keys in their current state.
  17. Yea, I can do without the interviews but they look like a fun band to see live. I really like the 2 albums that I have. I haven't had a chance to check them out live yet.
  18. Love it... very encouraged. Definitely one of my most anticipated released this summer.
  19. I prefer Jeff Tweedy to Bob Dylan. Impossible to state who the better songwriter is on account of the subjectivity involved.
