Nice work Q23cd (and Mrs Q23cd)! Congratulations and enjoy! -
How do these guys get their lives back?

If that is some sort of sick, racist or sexist comment, so help me... -

Late Breaking News - The douchebags will be appearing on Oprah so all should be right with the world shortly. -

I HATE RICH WHITE DOUCHEBAGS!! -
I love that stuff... followed by Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. Regarding Dogfish Head beer - What he said... The Raison D'etre is definitely not my favorite. The 60 minute pale ale, shelter pale ale and their Stout (name escapes me) are my personal favorites. Now Drinking - First beer of the weekend: Bell's - Lager Beer :-) Not my favorite of the Bell's catalog but it is still Bell's.

These guys were completely railroaded. This isn't really debatable. I don't recall ever seeing the prosecuting district attorney admit that they fucked up. How these guys are still being made out as villians or partially-to-blame for what happened is absolutely insane. Being rich (I'm not 100% certain that these guys are) or a LaCrosse player doesn't make anyone a douchebag either. Side note - why isn't the media making a bigger deal out of how these guys got screwed? They should be plastering Sharpton, Jesse, etc. on with their quotes of condemning them before they were found guilty. -
I think that they would be good but Tweedy probably wouldn't have flourished like he has. His reverence for Jay was likely holding him back. I've seen Uncle Tupelo live and they were nothing like Wilco live. I also believe that Jay has grown tremendously so "sharing" a band was likely holding these guys back. I think that the majority of what Jay and Jeff have put out since the Uncle Tupelo days far exceeds what they did in the band. I also agree with Parm that Still Feel Gone should be higher on the list of UT albums. At least in front of No Depression.

Dogfish Head - Raison D'Etre

Wait, I thought we all agreed that Kevin was going to be banned for the subject title of this thread. We can't let him get away with his racist topic postings!!
-
Moderators - I'd like El Kevin to be banned from this board for putting "nappy headed hoes" as the thread title. Thanks in advance.

What he said was one of the stupider things I've heard a talk show guy say. Absolutely no reason for it. If that shouldn't get him fired, the fact that he doesn't have much to say should. That said, I agree that all of the hullaballoo surrounding this is a bit over the top. Slow news week?

Jay played Chickamauga last night. I think that was the only song that he played lead guitar on. It was unreal.
-
hey Lou... I didn't know that you were going but I guess I shouldn't be suprised. Do you miss any shows? Jason was damn good but he doesn't appear to be ready to be the lead guy just yet. The setlist was pretty much the same as what Solace posted. Dress Blues was a great closer. Would have loved to hear Decoration Day but I guess I'll have to wait until he comes back around as a headliner. Son Volt was just unreal. I'll have to try and find a setlist but it seemed as if they played about 80 songs. It was a great night of music.
-
I'll take your word for it. I tried reading it but after the first 2 paragraphs and hardly mentioning the album, I lost interest. I'm not sure how any critic would call that a 2 star album. The presence of Jim James and Emmylou Harris alone garners at least 3 stars, no?
-
Agreed... I actually think he sounds more like Paul McCartney. Maybe Paul with a splash of John. It is a great pop album though. Very underrated.... in particular by Wilco fans.
-
He's definitely in the 5'9' range. He has really gotten heavy over the past couple of years. I'm guessing that has something to do with his back pain making him a bit on the immobile side. I saw him open up for a band a couple of months ago and he honestly looked like Brian Wilson during "Smile" era. He is extremely talented and I'm sure he'll pull things together to get back on a healthier track. Probably not easy to get kicked out of one of the best bands of the last few decades.
-
Bright Eyes - Cassadaga - so far so good with this one... side note - when grabbing the picture from AMG, they gave Wide Awake... only 2 stars. That is a bit surprising.
-
Does he know that the parting wasn't amicable?? He should have announced it as "one of Patterson's shitty songs... and Patterson is dumb". Maybe you misheard him? At any rate, thanks for the setlist Solace... I'm off to see him tonight.
-
wow, I couldn't disagree more. Patterson is easily my favorite of the songwriters but Cooley and Isbell are ridiculously talented. I'm with Peel on this... this has ruined my day. The triple-guitar onslaught that was their live shows won't be the same. Curious to see if Jason just goes the solo route or if he'll join forces with another band or songwriter(s). He and Jason Molina might make a nice little team.
-
Shonna and Jason are divorced now... Looks like Jason was given the boot. I'm not surprised that he is out but I definitely thought we'd get at least one more album with him on it. I'm looking forward to seeing him in a few days.
