Several references to DL lately. So many interesting scenes and characters to choose from when you look at his entire work, but I especially liked Mulholland Drive. His use of symbolism can make for an incredibly vague storyline, leaving the viewer to fill in some missing pieces. Eraserhead is downright disturbing, not to mention Blue Velvet. However, films like The Elephant Man and The Straight Story have more clarity and lack the uncomfortable smackdown he typically induces on the viewer. I like the second one. I re-read it as a song and it worked a little better as lyrics. And yes, quite a better package overall compared to the first one. Cheers
