I am really looking forward to seeing this, but my wife is not a big Dylan fan, so judging from what I have been reading she may be a little lost.

That is very true. Some of his albums I just cannot get into, but some I just absolutely adore. Some moments off the Love Is Hell albums that give me chills just thinking about them, Gold and Demolition are really good too ("Dear Chicago" and "Cry On Demand" are all time favorites of mine). But in the last few years he has cranked out so many albums I just cannot keep up. I don't know where to start, haha. I will have to back-track and get them one at a time.

We watched this last night. Really good documentary about the world record holders for the Donkey Kong arcade game. I enjoyed it, and can relate abit, being a nerdy gamer myself, haha.

I think Thinktank is an AMAZING album, from start to finish. Another glimpse of the genius of Damon Albarn.

I can't wait for the new album! I am slowly digesting my way through their entire catalogue and I am loving it all, especially the EP's right now.

I just finished reading his book "Fargo Rock City" and he has a chapter in there about this as well. Very funny. Being There would be right up there for me, and YHF and SBS as well. Being There is the first Wilco/Tweedy material I owned, so it has sentimental value as well.

Bill Mallonee's "Permafrost" album

I guess I may have worded that weird. I am agreeing with you. I could have left out the "too". Anyway, I have had a migraine all morning so I can't think straight.......

"Carry Me Ohio" is a wonderful song too. It's one of those gems that gets stuck in my head on a regular basis. Great guitar melody in that song.

I read this article on the net as well. It is kind of sad the way music is going. There is such a huge difference between vinyl and digital. I think for the most part people's perception of sound "quality" is more than a little skewed.

Are there any Bedhead fans in here? I just discovered them for myself. They were fairly well known in the mid' 90's. Great music for my moments of January melancholy.

On a major retro kick these days......

I just watched this a couple of weeks ago. One of the most powerful and moving films I have seen in a while.

Almost done this book. It's wildly entertaining.

Wow, I just watched this! Thank you so much. This guy is great. Another great artist to follow!

That is a BRILLIANT album. I am a huge Tragically Hip fan, and really like Downie's solo stuff today. Coke Machine Glow is poetic bliss from beginning to end.

The Cash Brothers...Canadian gems, Peter Cash was also in a band called the Skydiggers, and his brother Andrew has some solo stuff out. Fans of AM and the Being There album should appreciate these guys. I had a chance to meet them after a show a couple of years ago and they were really friendly and we chatted for a bit.

It's an all time favorite of mine too. I had it on repeat as I was renovating my basement last summer so now it always reminds me of that.......

Nice to see another James fan in here. I got the "Fresh As A Daisy" DVD for Christmas. Some great stuff on there. I have been listening to their "Whiplash" album alot lately. "Lost A Friend" and "Homeboy" are great songs.

I am dying for new episodes of my favorites shows, 30 Rock and The Office. I really hope that writer's strike is over soon. I don't know how many more reality shows I can handle......
-
I agree as well. I am dying for a solid, rockin' bootleg of Pot Kettle Black. Although, the version of Poor Places on Kicking TV is really nice.

My wife is a HUGE fan of anything Kozelek touches. She is very pumped!! I really like alot of his stuff too, especially the "Songs For A Blue Guitar" album! That is a fantastic record. His cover of "If You Want Blood" is fantastic as well. Have any of you seen his cameo in "Almost Famous"? That's kinda neat. Cameron Crowe has good taste in music.
