My thoughts exactly. My tuition fund can only take so much. But if I already hauled my ass to Chicago for the first show, how could I not go to the second? Maybe the Saturday is reserved too...and its slowly turning into a residency. Ha.

Haha my thoughts exactly. He can just post http://www.wilcobase.com/, to save some time.

I need to see this movie. I have an awesome t-shirt from the Metal on Metal tour, it was my dad's. His friends played in the band Kraken who opened up for Anvil (not sure when), so I have some sweet shirts.

Final Letters to Santa living room show 5/16/09
keylime replied to juliemccoy's topic in After The Show
Well, this weekend could not have been better. Unbelievably incredible. The city, the show, the people, the M&Ms...so much came out of these past couple of days and I'm really bummed that it's all over. I miss everyone already. Thanks a million to the Tweedys and the hosts, and all who pitched in to help make it happen. It's also worth mentioning that we got a tiny bit of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" somewhere in the evening. Dance moves included. -Dr. Freud Edit: I think I miss Old Style the most. -
Haha woops! I inferred that his mention of the flu was an explanation of Glenn's absence. I forgot Kronos was last night!!! I'm glad it was good, too. And I'm also glad that Glenn isn't ill!

Tonight's show was definitely unique. Wilco came on and started playing "Hesitating Beauty", which was an incredibly pleasant surprise as I had expected the same set from the last few shows. The second surprise (which was not so pleasant) was that Glen was not onstage with the band. After the song, Jeff explained that the band had been battling the flu the past few days and that Glenn wasn't well enough to join them for the night. After every song, Jeff came up with a different reason, including a zamboni accident, ice fishing accident, cosmetic surgery, fell down a well, etc. Jeff then mentio

Great. Of course when I potentially go to Iceland, they make their way over here. They best be playing Iceland Airwaves!

Duke Spirit / Voom Blooms / Tulsa - Seattle 3/7/08
keylime replied to auctioneer69's topic in After The Show
I absolutely love the Duke Spirit- at least what I've heard of them, anyway. I only have their album Cuts Across the Land and I haven't heard anything from the new one. I also haven't seen them live before, but have only heard incredible things. Can't wait to see them, and you have only enhanced my desire to do so! Were they as loud as I heard they can be? Also, if I saw them open for BRMC, my brain would melt. -
My mom thinks John looks like a hobbit.

Jim James can sing the phonebook and I'd be in tears. I'm so looking forward to this.

Hey, I think those are the same pj's Jeff wore at the New Years show at MSG! Awesome. I can barely see, but for some reason I think Jeff's wearing a Spice Girls shirt underneath...does anyone else see this?

What?! Anyone get pictures?? It's awesome they made significant changes to the setlist, sounds like it was fantastic!! I miss Theologians...

OH NO! I finally saved enough money to make a Chicago trip and its right in the middle of exams I would also love to join an auction group if there ends up being living room shows, if anybody's looking for extras...

I've had an Iggy Pop dream before...he was shirtless (surprise, surprise) and for some reason I went to hug him and he had this weird goo on his back. It was awful. On another note, Mikael was in my dream last night. My friends and I were playing ultimate frisbee and he was in a lawn chair, spectating from the sidelines. So weird.

I know people at all of those schools! They all seem to be enjoying themselves. Good luck with the acceptances! Oh, and Kalle- my brother goes to Laurier! He's in his last year, and he loves it. Good luck to you too!

I've been meaning to make this thread but I kept forgetting. I saw them last month when they played their own show the night before they opened for Maroon 5 and it was INCREDIBLE but painful, as I was front and center. Had to ice my knees and arms the next day. The new songs sounded awesome, I can't wait for the new record and hopefully another tour!!! Are they playing their own show in LA as well as one with Maroon 5? Are they even still touring together?

Same here! It's airing this Friday for us. Can't wait, but I'm sad there will be no Pot Kettle Black...boo.

I don't see movies in theatres often, I have to have a pretty good feeling that I'm going to like it before I do. I'm usually right, but I've made a couple of mistakes. I walked out of the second Matrix, although I don't know what I was expecting. I don't even like the first one anymore. It was a phase, I guess. I also walked out of some Bruce Willis movie, I don't know what it was...a lot of people were being shot at, I think some kids died...it wasn't good. Eternal Sunshine is one of my favourite movies of all time! And about Sin City, I thought parts of it looked pretty cool, but I alm

But it must be done! I can't wait until mid-December, after exams I'll be drowning in books, but it will be books of my choice for once. EDIT: I can't believe my 100th post was used to complain about stats. Boourns.
