I live in L.A. and went up to see the Santa Barbara show. I was bummed when the L.A. shows sold out so fast, but I look forward to a review of the Coronet show tonight. I saw Bert Jansch play there in 2010, a year before he passed. You could here every note Bert played, plus the proverbial pin dropping. The Largo at the Coronet has a very strict phone and talking policy to the point where the website states that you will be escorted out if there are any disruptions. You all are lucky if you got tickets for this week's shows.

Hi... That's really weird. What are you playing through? A P.A.? An Amp? Do you require some extra EQ? Also, do you think it could be a faulty unit? If you know of someone else with an M1A you could swap it out and give it a try. You might also want to call or email the folks at Baggs. I found them very helpful and prompt when I asked them a question about their pickups a while back. All the best, John

I've been playing with a Baggs M1A for 3-4 years in my Santa Cruz 000. I too had concerns about messing with the original condition of a rather very nice guitar, but once it was installed with the 1/2 inch endpin hole drilled and jack installed, I had no regrets. Mine is the heather gray t with the blue rooster logo on the front "Rising Early Since '94." I also have another one screened in red. Got the gray/blue one on the Sky Blue Sky tour and the gray/red one from the Wilco store.

They were nominated in the Best Americana Album category? I mean, getting a nod is cool, but when I think of Wilco, especially Wilco (The Album), I'm not thinking Americana. It would have been cool if they were to perform tonight. It would be cooler if they skipped the whole thing. If they do win they should send one of Jeff's kids up to accept. Now that would be cool.

Just got back from Phoenix. The show was awesome. The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Phoenix is the most gorgeous art deco theatre I've ever been in and a perfect venue for a post-Christmas solo Tweedy show. Walking into the place was a spiritual moment in itself. The acoustics were so damn good. Jeff sounded fantastic!

I went back to the shop where I bought Summerteeth told them of the problem. The store's return policy on vinyl is a basic "no returns on vinyl." The clerk checked the disk one. It looked immaculate. No scratches, etc. He seemed really sympathetic and disagreed with the store's policy. He even went so far as to call the distributor to find out if they'd heard of any problems with Summerteeth (the distributor was closed. It's Sunday). I bought mine from a indie record store in southern California. Track one/ side one skipped in multiple places. I'm going to return it.

I bought a Zoom H4n a few months ago and really love it. I've been using it to record my own shows as well as getting down ideas while songwriting. It's got two built in stereo mics (which produce an amazingly clear sound), and additional inputs for two more mics, for a total of 4. This is the first digital recorder I've owned. The H4n in the latest version in their line of hand held recorders.

I wasn't a nothing counter, until seeing the band in L.A last month. I was at the Pomona, CA show. It was awesome. I read the review in the L.A. Times the next day, where the writer reported on Jeff's 42 nothings. Could it be? 42? So at the Wiltern Show a week later, I counted, including the last, "nothing at all." Wow! 42! That's a lot of nothings. A highlight of both nights, to be sure! As Billy Preston once sang, "nothing from nothing, leaves nothing." So, yes, the last nothing should be counted.

I thought Pomona was a great show, but this final Wiltern night blew me away. Jeff was in a playfully talkative mood with the audience, conversing back and forth with the crowd about clapping to show appreciation instead of saying "thank you," after each song. I was cracking up!!!

I first saw Jeff play the SCGC 000 and the Baggs M1 on the Sunken Treasure DVD and was really smitten. So now I've played a Baggs M1 Active in my SCGC 000 for about a year and a half now. I've only played it through a p.a. It is a powerful pickup and has quit a bit of midrange. I've found that with the right EQ, i.e. bringing down the mids from the p.a. mixer (or one of those pedal eq's) dials in a really sweet tone. I love it. The other pickup I've seen footage of, and it may be on ST DVD, that Jeff has a Sunrise sound hole pickup on one of the guitars. I also considered a Sunri

The Baggs M1 (Passive) comes with a 12 ft. Mogami cable with a 1/8 in. jack to be run out of the soundhole for temporary installation AND a 1/4 in. endpin jack, for more permanent wire installation, depending on your preference to drill for the endpin or not. The M1 Active only comes with the 1/4 in. endpin jack option.

I also play a SC 000 and added an Baggs M1 Active about 3 months ago. I play it through a small PA in coffee houses, etc. If you get the passive, you'll need a pre-amp. LR Baggs Co. claim their PARA DI is a great match for the passive. I love the fact that the Active is good to go straight into the PA and the volume control is handy. I have found the M1A is a pretty powerful pickup, heavy with a lot of mids. So I bought a small 7 band pedal eq (Boss GE-7) and plug into the eq, then into the mixer/PA. I lower the mids a bit on the eq and now get a nicely balanced tone. I keep the b
